Its funny to me that officials in government think they were warning the citizens when their policies directly helped destroy Jasper. 17 years of working in the forests in canada taught me one thing for sure: the government is incompetant and has destroyed canadian forests due to their mismanagement and negligent policies. I think the residents of jasper need a class action lawsuit for compensation because something tells me the insurance companies will find a way not to pay.

I want some one to explain to me what causes these fires ? We were there last Saturday & there was no rain of lightening ! Just dried & high temp just like in Florida, we have rain, thundering, tornados, hurricanes but there is no gov prohibitions. What I think is that the manufacturing of woods which is large in these provinces create the fires to obtain their wood tree. I saw about 100 trucks carrying from BC to Alberta.

Why do we now have 5 seasons instead of 4? It used to be spring, summer, fall and winter. Now it's spring, summer, fire-season and winter. Dry landscapes and high temperatures will do that. We are experiencing climate change.
