The reason that Counter Guardian Emiya was so incredibly overpowered was because he HAD the infinite mana supplied by Alaya. Heroic Spirit Emiya was much weaker, as shown by the Visual Novel. In fate, between the first injury from Excalibur, whose wounds don't heal he was left using his energy to surrvive, still Archer kill Heracles SIX times without using UBW just utalizing projection. In UBW, he was left without mana as he didn't have a Master for most of that route

Actually the proper terminology would be Archer Servant EMIYA (a spiritual copy of the original) who fights in the visual novel and the Counter Guardian EMIYA (the original) is the one that is sent to eliminate humans by Alaya while being supplied with near endless mana. A Heroic Spirit would be someone whose deeds are widely recognized and acknowledged getting them inscribed on the Throne. EMIYA is only a Counter Guardian. On the Type Moon Wiki it says that Sakura's connection to Angra Mainyu and the Holy Grail provides her with 1,000,000,000,000 units of magical energy already on the level of a Counter Guardian though she can only use 1,000 units at a time. Rin's maximum output is also only 1,000 units of magical energy. The amount available to the Servant and the Counter Guardian are vastly different.

@@stephensmail6943 It's been ages. But small correction here. EMIYA made a deal with allaya to become a counter guardian FIRST. But as stated in his lore, his deeds in his own timeline did qualify him for the throne of heroes. It's just that he's utilised almost solely by allaya due to signing away his post death self and being a future hero (as they are almost impossible to summon due to how summoning said spirits works and the fact future "heroes" are weaker due to being from the modern day). So he is still a heroic spirit

Just wanted to add something based on your description. Archer took out that many lives in a weakened state if you remember the fact Saber almost sliced off his head and he had to recover in his spirit state. Even then he wasn't fully healed. Add to the fact during the Fate route he also gave up his plan to kill his past self, which was suppose to be a very very rare chance, rendering him to give up almost during the berserker fight.

EvilSapphireR Technically kick-boxing, but I hold a better talent in the boxing part as I can I can rapid fire punches with 12oz gloves for four minutes. However, I restrict my kicks to spinning back kicks (my best) and a few other fundamental ones, and outside of that, one of my friends is a former Army Ranger and he's been teaching stuff to use if I get in a legit fight for my life that isn't meant for a regulated match.

Hachi Tonkon Do you understand how projection works? Even Archer who is perhaps one of the biggest experts ever at it couldnt replicate EA because the materials used for it didnt exist on the planet Earth. UBW works as a factory of swords, projecting an infinite number of swords that Archer can draw into reality. The materials required to project those weapons already exist inside that Reality Marble, thats why Archer doesnt need anything to project while a normal mage would need many ingredients (For example, in order to project Zelretch Sword Rin wanted to use the Azoth sword, but Shirou didnt need it). He even has the materials to project weapons of divine procedence such as Excalibur (But doing so would kill him), but he cant even begin to analyze EA. To create anything that could trace EA except Gilgamesh himself or one of its creators that has such knowledge would be breaking their own rules.

To be fair to Shirou, he does great with what he's got, he has no magus heritage, Kiritsugu barely taught him anything, and he was thrown into a war he had no previous knowledge of and given very little time to improve in his magic or fighting technique.

But any other mage with his ability would have been more powerful. Simply because Shirou as a teen literally cannot use UBW on his own. Even though he has the ability he can't activate it on his own. In UBW he uses Rins mana to activate it. In oath under snow, he uses Miyu's mana to activate UBW. His own mana isnt enough to activate his own signature ability. Though that isn't really his fault or anything, hes just not as talented as some other mages. I love Shirou as a character personally.

Until now, anybody beside Emiya Shirou who have UBW will either straight up unable to use it, unaware of its existence, die upon using it or use it inferiorly compare to Emiya Shirou. Because, nobody beside Shirou meet all minium requirements to use it. Origin, sword. Mind, *blank* , thinking process, *machine, supercomputer level* even , structural analysis and projection, two most basic magecraft, so inferior that no one paid attention to it, yet he takes it to a level no one ever reached. Judging the concept of creation. Hypothesizing the basic structure. Duplicating the composition material. Imitating the skill of its making. Sympathizing with the experience of its growth. Reproducing the accumulated years. Excelling every manufacturing process. Things only Emiya Shirou can do. Waver Velvet once believed that, with proper understanding, anything could be projected at the caster's will, but Kayneth dismissed that as impossible for a Magus without the correct pedigree, even if one has the right logic. Every other magus that isn't in strong Servant level and above will straight up die upon projecting any Noble Phantasm. And even when they die, their projection would still be only a trashy copy, so weak, so fragile, like a origami made by children. Failed to comprehend even the basic structure, not to mention the ability of a Noble Phantasm, and how to recreate those. And these projection would soon fade away. Shell projection and Shirou's tracing are the only 2 projection that have high accuracy, stability and can last long. Normal magus' projections, even that of simple object, have short duration, low accuracy and can be unstable. There is a reason why projection is deemed useless, while reinforcement and modification, its simpler version, are useful. Normal magus only used projection for immediate activities, such as projecting a sacrificial item to be forsaken in a ritual. And people rarely think of combining structure analysis with projection, not that there is anyone whose structure analysis even dream of being even near the level of Shirou's. If I remember it right, even fucking Muramasa cant use UBW normally, so he combined it into one sword instead. 2. Reality marble is banned magic. Possessing, using or researching it will earn you a Sealing Designation or something similar, I dont really remember. And it was deemed at least daemon level supernatural phenomenon. Servants can use it without worry as they are servants, and Holy Grail War is backed up by Church and Mage Association. 3. Shirou already used it once at the end of his last battle against Archer. When the sky change to white and blue. He hasn't formed a contract with Rin at that time. Mana capacity aside, his magic circuits were ruined by Kiritsugu. Pouring molten steel in "to enlarge the circuits" (but actually just to torture Shirou so he gave up his hero dream. As you know, he never give up.) or something similar. He hasn't use his circuits once until the middle of Holy Grail War, because Kiritsugu lied to him, saying that magic circuits are nerves converted into magic circuits.That also ruined his nerves. I dont know if in Nasuverse, mana capacity can increase by training or not, but even if it is, as he never use magic correctly, his mana capacity remain the same as when he was born. Also, Kiritsugu also hide him like more than 99,9999℅ of his magic knowledges, so if he trained Shirou properly, he would also instruct Shirou to store mana in something similar to Rin's gem to save it up for later use. 4. When Miyuverse Shirou fought Angelica, he already solo'd the whole Grail War in one single night without a single moment to rest. His body already reached limit in his fight against Saber card holder. He also already gave up the Archer card. Later on, he cannot use UBW anymore due to his body was partially destroyed. In the final battle against Sakura, before kill her with Caladbolg II, he stated that this will be his last projection before his body pass the limit. He definitely can use UBW without Miyu's help if he was still in his prime with his Archer card. Miyu just help him fighting *that long* , even when his body already go past its limit, *against Angelica's dangerous combination of Ainsworth's magecraft and Gilgamesh's divine weapons* , by *tracing fucking divine weapons* .

Had Archer had enough mana, he would have been able to defeat Saber easily. Not only that with enough mana, he would have been able to trace others' noble phantasms, such as Excalibur. A proof of that is in the series Fate/Kaleid Liner Prisma Illya, where Illya transformed into a fem version of Archer. The only difference between her and the actual archer was the fact she has unlimited mana, which enabled her to do amazing things.

An actual replication of Excalibur (and Ea) is beyond Archer(/Shirou)'s abilities. At most, Archer can create an imperfect Excalibur that would drain him of all his prana and kill himself in a suicide attack (offset by the infinite mana of a Counter-Guardian, I guess). However, there exists the possibility of a Noble Phantasm that can replicate Excalibur's abilities, and given Archer's freedom to use Broken Phantasms as he pleases, he might very well be able to replicate Excalibur's prana discharge.

Actually Archer had more prana then Saber the thing was that he is not a true Heroic Spirit and his stats are lower then what he actually is capable of. If he wishes to kill Saber he would, it's like the first fight vs Caster, he did not want to kill her even though he can wreck her so bad. And don't forget his reality marble in which he indeed can simply pull out Excalibur as it's already stored there, the only sword that he cannot reproduce is EA because it's not made from materials found on Earth (thats the one and only reason). Archer can simply snipe Saber from 5 kilometers with mach 10 Hruntings. Saber can't dodge those, neither can she block them.

Train Hardnett No, even with UBW, Archer cannot perfectly replicate Excalibur, because Excalibur is a divine construct made of materials that cannot be found on earth or be understood by humans (because it's a sword made by the Fairy of the Lake). He CAN, like I said, possibly own a similar, degraded sword that has similar abilities, or waste all of his prana in a suicide attack trying to replicate it. This of course, is a mute point when Archer is a Counter-Guardian, but even then he cannot fully replicate Excalibur. As for Archer vs Saber, it's entirely possible for Archer to win... given the right circumstances. If it came down to a close-combat fight, Saber would surely win without a doubt. However, should it comes down to ambushes, tactics and long-ranged battles, within the right circumstances, Archer could definitely take down even Saber.

***** Under certain conditions, he probably could. In Heaven's Feel Shirou was using Archer's version of projection. During the normal ending he projected a copy of Excalibur strong enough to obliterate the grail and Angra Mainyu with it. Fate/Extra (though it's a different universe), says that Archer can replicate holy-sword class weaponry with the backup of said sword's original owner. Note that he has far less prana than when he was alive, as a Counter Guardian he had practically infinite prana as well since he had Gaia on his side.

I never said that Archer can reproduce Excalibur perfectly, he can't do that for all of the weapons he has stored in UBW. I only said that he indeed can simply pull out a copy of Excalibur to offset the original. But due to Archer's other abilities it is not said that that copy cannot be more powerful then the original *cough*brokenphantasm*cough* Also one of the reason he can make Excalibur is because he had Avalon melted in his body, he perfectly understands how to make it. On the prana note, in the war Saber had around 1500 units but Archer had 2000-2500 units of prana. There are only 2 things that require a lot of prana, 1 being UBW and the other Rho Aias as shield needs 3 times more prana then a projection of a sword.

Dude, in Ataraxia he was spamming Hruntings at Shirou, not even Saber. Saber literally deflected one away from Shirou, and as it was coming back at him she took that time to go mach speed right up to Archer and slash him. This was to Archer's every advantage in that he only had to kill Shirou to win, and that Saber couldn't use Excalibur against him since he was on a civilian occupied building. I love UBW and Archer, but frankly he's a smart hero not an especially powerful one. :(

In my head I thought a theoretical crossover between Fate and Bleach and it pretty much would create one of the strongest fictional characters ever, Archer can copy any weapon he sees and it pretty much is a perfect copy as long as he has the mana to summon it, if Alaya is giving him infinite mana then he can pretty much summon every single Bankai in existence + the Espada's Zanpakutos and pretty much have the strongest abilities of most OP Bleach characters. Imagine this as an example: Archer with Zangetsu and Final Getsuga Tensho attack (Ichigo) + Kyoka Suigetsu (Aizen) + Zanka No Tachi (Yamamoto) + Senbonzakura Kageyoshi (Byakuya) + Katen Kyokotsu (Shunsui) + Shirafude Ichimonji (Ichibe) + Sayafushi (Oetsu) which is the sharpest weapon ever. Him just summoning these 7 Zanpakutos makes him able to one shot literally everyone in Bleach and Fate and probably other anime verses as long as he has the infinite mana from Alaya.

Though, in regards to Saber being sped up by a Command Spell, yeah, that's true. Honestly though, everything else was all to Archer's advantage. In any other situation, he couldn't really hope to even face an Excalibur blast. If Hrunting can pierce 4 layers of Rho Aias, Excalibur can easily blow it away. Unlimited Blade Works is actually stupendously strong. It's Archer who's to weak to fully utilize it, not to mention Shirou. See Illya in Fate/Prisma. She can trace Excalibur vs Alter and win.

Exactly. EMIYA and Shirou can't even fully utilize UBW to the extent that would make them "strong." To even reach the strength of the original they have to break NP. Without a true Noble Phantasm, Archer is noted to be physically weaker than all other Servants. Gil makes up for the fact by spamming, but Archer has to risk close-combat. Archer has to shore up his weakness with strategy and technique since he's not capable of producing Excalibur-caliber weaponry. Caladbolg is his hypothetical best

Actually, EMIYA is kinda weak. He just makes up for it with pure GAR and versatility. He lacks the prana/energy to fully utilize Unlimited Blade Works. Specifically, why he doesn't use Excalibur class weaponry of why he can't spam Noble Phantoms like Gilgamesh. Saber was able to outspeed his Hrunting and go up to him and slash him, showing how outclassed he is physically.

I always had this question in the back of my head for a while, but can't Archer just forge new noble phantasms since he can see the entire history of a weapon even the forging process of how it was made, (idk how THAT works) so he's gotta have like a hundred different ways he could forge one through human means, and before you say he doesn't have the materials he is a counter guardian right? He operates outside of time, so could he maybe grab some while he's on a mission, or something and stuff it into UBW I mean there's nothing saying he can't use it to store non perishable materials in it, and if that isn't an option maybe he can beg Alaya, or something saying it would increase his efficiency at work, and that's not even mentioning chaldean Archer that has it even easier when he could just ask his master Gudao to grab some while he's out, or just get those materials himself by joining in on the missions. (My knowledge on the nasuverse may not be up to par with the average fan i only got into it a few months ago and i don't tend to have the time to dedicate myself to these kind of things so I'm very slow when it comes to learning about it so apologies if i get some parts or many of it wrong heck i won't even be surprised if all of it was wrong so yeah sorry if get it wrong)

You can't just forge Noble Phantasms. Let's be clear of the definition of a Noble Phantasm, shortened to NP. A NP is the crystallization of legend of a particular Heroic Spirit, and can be called a symbol of that Hero. The NP Caliburn doesn't let off a beam of heat because it was designed that way; it lets off a beam of heat because its legend says it can. The original blade would have a different reason to let off that beam of heat. EMIYA's Reality Marble, Unlimited Blade Works, is technically not actually a NP as it is not a crystallization of legend; EMIYA has no legend, but he refers to UBW as his NP because it is the only thing that truly represents him (a symbol) despite not meeting the full definition. Iskandar's Reality Marble works because he was the King of Conquerors and thus he must have an army; his legend states it to be so. EMIYA's Reality Marble works by employing a bounded field mapping his soul to the world around him, overriding reality with his own, i.e., magecraft. Having the material that forged the weapons isn't enough to create a Noble Phantasm. To create a Noble Phantasm, any weapon EMIYA forges would have to gain a legend behind it AND be soaked in Mystery (which naturally happens the longer a weapon exists). Even then, it probably wouldn't match up to other Noble Phantasms. You also seem to have a misunderstanding of how "outside of time" actually works. EMIYA can't beg Alaya for a power up, because if he did it would have already happened from the start of time. Remove your conception of time; there is NO point A to B. A and B overlap. Because EMIYA exists at all points in time and in every timeline, it is impossible for a random buff to happen because the EMIYA from before would already be buffed because he also exists after being buffed becau- You get my point. EMIYA lives in a hell of overlapping memories and timelines where he is forced to kill for an everlasting moment; every mission is done at the same time yet separated. That is what being "outside of time" means. You also seem to misunderstand Alaya. Alaya is not some sapient creature that can be begged. It is the Collective Unconsciousness of Humanity. Think of it more as a machine with no soul, designed to fight for the pure goal of humanity's survival. And since it exists outside of time, there need not be any suggestions because if there were, it would already know it. Time is weird in Nasuverse. You'll get used to it. Mystic Codes, however, are a completely different story. Fanon would have you believe that EMIYA can only use his most iconic magecraft, but we don't actually know what spells he had learned in life. For example, EMIYA had crafted spells of warding over Kanshou and Bakuya, his chinese falcions, that are powerful enough to defend and deflect A-ranked magecraft from Medea, a magus from the Age of Gods. Not just any random first-gen magus with no pedigree, crest, or resources can easily do that. He was also capable of hypnotizing Rin, putting her to sleep in the UBW route at the church. Thus, we don't know how proficient EMIYA is at magecraft in general. Shirou himself has a super patchy knowledge of magecraft. The kid knows super advanced topics such as Divine Mystic Eyes but has no clue about the bare foundations of magecraft. Kiritsugu... was not the best teacher, perhaps. Given that EMIYA can read the construction of armaments down to how they were produced, I wouldn't think it odd if he could produce his own Mystic Codes, assuming that the knowledge he is skimming from isn't too reliant on a super specific field of study or on Magic such as the Kaleidoscope. Even then, in Chaldea he could work with Casters far better than him to produce Mystic Codes. The problem with that, however? EMIYA isn't the main character of FGO, thus he has to be sidelined and not be properly utilized alongside a lot of other non-story important Servants in order to allow Ritsuka to shine. Such are the problems you have to face when playing a Gacha game, I suppose.

Id say: Shirou x Rin is a really good couple, probably my favourite. Shirou x Sakura seems the most logic though, seeing how they had been together for a few years. Shirou x Saber is a first sight love, unlike the earlier two. It is also good. Overall the three are great, just like there are three great routes.

Emiya guardian is more powerfull for other sevant because he not a servant but CG, why he weak in series because his supply mana is not from alaya but from his master Rin, why i ask he strong because as guardian he is immortal and unlimited mana like he tell past about him killed again and again, his CG from has same power as Ruler Class or Grand Servant because him not summoning like normal servant with grail, master and catalyst, but from Alaya so he can trace anything like shield, sword, Gun and another weapon, but i can tell he cannot win against Gilgames if he serious, but if gil not serious he's end up like shirou did to him in UBW, sorry for my bad english

Of course he had to use his Command Spell to summon Saber. He's human (well, think he thinks he's human, he's actually Avenger in Ataraxia). Of course Archer can kill a human, the weakest Servant could crush a person's skull with their bare hands. We're comparing Archer in strength, and saying he's lacking compared to most Servants. He can't take any Servant in a "straight" fight, having below average strength for the Archer class even. His whole style revolves around versatility and tactics.

Exactly. EMIYA and Shirou can't even fully utilize UBW to the extent that would make them "strong." To even reach the strength of the original they have to break NP. Without a true Noble Phantasm, Archer is noted to be physically weaker than all other Servants. Gil makes up for the fact by spamming, but Archer has to risk close-combat. Archer has to shore up his weakness with strategy and technique since he's not capable of producing Excalibur-caliber weaponry. Caladbolg is his hypothetical best
