11 brix sugar (mosto) content during fermentation. Agave pinha once harvested is around 35 to 38 brix level.

Brix is basically the number of grams of sugar dissolved in 100 grams of water. In a wash, this is the amount of fermentable sugar. I'm assuming that their agave has low 20's brix. But when they add water to make a wash the brix is around 11.

Once opened, the neck pour tends to not be the best one for tasting, specially if you have not worked your taste bud first with another tequila, otherwise it will slap you. This one needs to be revisited. Imo, this tequila needs to sit to open up. It is complex, well rounded, full of pepper and with earthiness.

The lower body rating from Dillion may come from he is more into higher proof spirits and likes the mouthfeel of higher proof, and anything lower that 100 proof comes off thin. Is that a possibility?

I can empathize with Dutch, in that I have also cut the roof of my mouth on pizza and it made whiskey drinking quite miserable. Had to switch to cocktails for a bit

Nice review. Another cool production method is Mezcal Ancestral where clay pot stills must be used and in distillation must include the fiber of the agave not just the juice. Mezcal Vago has some nice Ancestral Mezcals

Having the CP guys review a bottle that’s super difficult to find surely would be entertaining. Sounds like you’ve already tasted or have this bottle tho so I have to assume you also just love it, right?

If your a whisky fan it’s hard to judge tequila cause your so use to what whisky taste like. I see you guys did a blind test and whatever you guys thought the brand was nowhere near it. Very hard to take you guys recommendations on what’s good and what’s not when y’all are too bias cause it’s either the price point of the bottle or just simply what liquor your use to drinking…

Also notice how the only blanco tequila they rated really high was G4 madera which had wood flavors imparted. I think they could have a bias towards aged expressions, kind of odd

These guys have nevet tasted Siete Leguas, Regional, Herradura, Jose Cuervo, El Caballito Cerrero, Don Julio, Oro Azul, Arette, Tapatio, ETWL from 20-30-40 years ago. They don’t know what tequila is supposed to taste like.

most tequila enthusiasts rate blancos high because it's the expression in it's purist form. They love the taste of the agave along with the sweet tones that come with it

@@bryan6158​​ Yeah but some blancos are still rated a lot higher than other blancos by the Reddit community and Tequila Match Maker. And they all mostly speak highly of 11 brix, however I believe 11 brix is their worst rated blanco to date out of 6 or 7 blancos which were rated lower than 11 brix by TMM and reddit. So something fishy is going on

1. MSRP on this was around $200, so y’all overpaid because of scarcity. 2. This was harvested at a lower sugar concentration than normal, which lowers yield and changes the flavor profile. 3. I don’t drink much Tequila, so take this with a grain of salt, but it is my favorite Blanco. A close second at a third the price is Arrette Fuerte 101. Y’all need to get your hands on it. Or not since our palates don’t line up.
