I was initially shocked with that outcome, but then I think about the blanco blind we did with family, and the bottles with more unique/earthy aromas and flavors (Arette, Wild Common) did poorly for most of the group against those that were a bit more neutral/sweet (Lalo, Mijenta, Ocho). Love these blinds. Would be cool to see some mezcal videos.

Would have been interesting to have lot 3 of G4 instead of lot 2. Seems like lot 3 is generally liked more than lot 2

Very interesting. But guys, the G4 Madera is so unique in it´s trashy-funky-crazy nose and taste - that was pretty clear for me as a viewer from your descriptions that it was the yellow sample.... cheers. Markus, Tequila-Kontor Germany.

I never had the brix or 23, but based on all ur descriptions, I was sure that the blue was decadas! Nice job 3rd guy from the left! I was tasting decadas & madera lot 3 (I think u guys had lot 2) while watching, & was fun to try to line up with it. Great review guys keep up the hard work! 😂👍🥂

It would be nice in post production to reveal to the watcher the brands while describing them. This way we hear your comments regarding the tequila and we can associate with the brand

As the undisputed winner of the blanco challenge id love to have seen ocho 'puntas' or better yet just the plain old ocho plata snuck in there as a wildcard amoungst the bunch of elites , ill bet regular ocho puts a few of the special releases on notice, depending on the year (and locality) its some serious juice

Man, that Calle 23 Criollo really is fantastic. Let me set the stage by saying I know as little about tequila as I do much about whiskey... so even though my samples were all labeled it was effectively a blind tasting. A friend sent me that plus blancos from G4, Ocho, and Fortaleza to introduce me to agave spirits properly. Without knowing a thing about which cost the most, was the rarest, or had the most hype I found that stuff to stand out head and shoulders above the others. Men vs boys. If I ever stumble on a bottle... (Edit: In case anyone is curious, Fortaleza a distant 4th... G4/Ocho i could see being 2/3 or 3/2 depending on the day of the week.)

Hey, Dutch! To your “wait 30 minutes in between each tasting of each spirit” theory for a better blind taste, how about making an episode where you blind taste and blind review each spirit you guys have already reviewed and previously ranked for your ultimate spirits rankings!!!! 🌟🌟🌟 Maybe just do one spirit at time, one day at a time maybe, and make an episode comparing you blind rankings with your non-blind rankings or even just Top 3 or 5 🤘

Yeah, blinds are a ton of fun but they don’t tell the whole story. For example, 4 Roses Small Batch and others from them, do terrible in my blinds but by is one of my favorite distilleries when tasted by itself.
