The split tailgate is more useful than the single piece for many reasons. If you're pulling a trailer with a load close to the rear the single door may be too long to open. I can leave the bottom closed and fill the trunk without worrying about things falling out. You can leave the bottom closed and have long loads hanging out of the back with only the top open. It's also a comfortable seat with the overhead up and music playing.

A few of reviewers probably didn't mention this, but the material used on the rooflining is very nice actually, It's like a soft suede, even the sunshades are wrapped in the same material and even has some nice foam padding in it

Great review as usual - thank you. Whilst I think there is a lot to like about the new LC300, there are some major failures / missed opportunities in my opinion. 1) WIRED Apple CarPlay - (Even a $25k Hyundai i30 get WIRELESS Apple CarPlay. What happens when Apple releases their new iPhone’s WITHOUT the charging cable?) 2) CD/DVD Player - Does anyone use DVD and CD’s anymore? (Toyota should replace the DVD section for two phone charging pads.) 3) REAR SEAT SCREENS - These looked outdated before the car was even released. (I think Toyota should have made Tablet mounts for the seats, and put a high speed 5G wifi module in the car. This way Toyota could have sold the upgrade for any model variant and a vehicle owner could add a 5G sim plan to have hi speed wireless internet through the car.) Just some thoughts

Just some points Tom. No, the front seats don’t go back far enough for tall drivers. The steering wheel on the 200 Sahara was electrically adjustable so not a new design. You didn’t show it so I don’t know if it has changed but the second row seats on the 200 Sahara also have forward and back adjustment to give more room to rear seat passengers. The 200 has the screens on the back of the seats, which are not removable, which is a real pain because if you want seat covers you have to go custom made. The fuel consumption for the 200 series is pretty well spot on with what I get so well done there and the 300 is a definite improvement however if someone is that concerned with fuel economy why would they look at a Cruiser? The service interval might be inconvenient for some but you have to remember that those folks travelling around Australia with their massive caravans are working those engines hard. They need regular oil changes. Oil is cheap, engines aren’t. That’s another reason Land Cruiser have legendary reliability. It also helps reduce the chance of a small problem becoming a breakdown. A friend has an early 200 and at one service the mechanic noticed a small weep from the water pump. It was changed under warranty and the first thing the owner knew was when he got a call to say the dealer wanted his car for a little longer so the pump could be replaced. It could have been a different story if he had decided to get the Cruiser serviced when he got back. So glad to see the third row seats gone on this model, my third row seats were removed as soon as we got the car home and won’t come back out until the car is sold. Personally I think a lot of this model will be purchased by retirees looking to tow a van whereas city cars will be the lower spec Sahara with the third row seats. No mention of optional interior? We chose the cream leather and although it needs more maintenance/ cleaning we much prefer it to black. Good review and I would like to see a review of the base model sometime. Cheers Stuart.

Love these or hate them their re-sale value is the best.! When you go to sell the car you will get all your money back. Not many cars do that. Would you sacrifice all that money for a better infotainment system or bells and whistles? It's the customers choice. A BMW or Mercedes has all the bells and whistles but after 4 years you have lost all your money.
@aaronadkins82342 жыл бұрын
This just isn't completely true. Toyotas generally depreciate less than any other brand. That part is true. But they still depreciate. A vehicle is not an investment, it's a liability. It's the user experience that should be important. Don't buy something because it will lose slightly less of its value over time than something else. Imagine if we did this with shoes... I bought this pair of shoes because although they aren't as comfortable or nice looking as others, when I go to sell them I'll get more money back.?! It varies from market to market, but in my country Toyotas drop in value about 30 percent in five years. BMW and Mercedes drop about 50%, then they level off and retain the value, while the Toyota continue to depreciate eventually equaling the other brands in resale value. I've never understood this argument of resale value.. The main selling point of the vehicle is getting rid of it.
@michaelraeburn25632 жыл бұрын
The hole reason why toyota has a good resale value is because no one wants to sell cars like bmw and Mercedes’ or any euro cars drop in resale value is the cost to maintain after less kilometres put on them reliability is the key

Big rig. Just gonna put it out there. But Toyota dropped their durability name a number of years ago. Cough. Hilux, prado, fortuner. We had early v8 cruises consuming 1L of engine oil every 1000km. Toyota argued this was in spec. We had brand new 2.8L hiluxes destroying their transfer cases. We had the smaller hilux engines dusting all their engines…. DPF… injectors. My god. Toyota what a mess. The latest 2Bn class action lawsuit is a telling tale of where Toyota is these days. The ONLY reason this car sells to its production capacity (somewhat low volume production)…. Is because there is not other car competing in class. there is still a huge amount of patriotic Toyota fans that swear by them. Owning one of these second hand approaching 10 years/ 200,000km old will be unaffordable to keep running with Australian labour costs...

Laughable that you’re sitting in vinyl seats and don’t have even basic luxuries that you get in cars half the price.

Absolutely not, they are a rip off and a step down from the previous 200 series, and I am not just talking about the ZX !!
