Like with proper white Lilum regale variety, I find this cultivar's fragrance definitely stronger but above all sweeter and cleaner after sunset... or at least, this seems to happen during Italy's early summer nights! Unlike these regale varieties, Oriental lily cultivars seem to smell just the same throughout the whole day and night!

Do you know what species were used in breeding to give those giant hybrids their size? I don't know if any species lily are so tall.

Hello, there are actually species lilies that are this tall, such as Lilium superbum, but this species is not an ancestor of the trumpet lilies. I believe that one of the species used for trympet and OT lilies is Lilium regale, but just to be sure I will do some research and let you know
