For a little bit of context, the Russian "Mafia" in this instance is a bunch of Soviet-Afghanistan War veterans who were abandoned by their country. They aren't gangsters; they're the equivalent of a full on special forces brigade made up of former paratroopers, grunts who fought until the end, ex-Spetznaz, and all around badass veterans who couldn't or wouldn't have regular lives anymore after all the shit they did and had done to them, and then she (Balalaika) scooped them all up, paid them off, and promised them that they would never lack for anything ever again, a result of which is that they worship the ground she walks on and would literally do ANYTHING for her.

And the description provided by one of the characters about her group, is that they can literally start ww3 and end it aswell. And with balalaika as their commander, they could not be stopped. They literally only became a mafia cause the soviet union fell apart and they weren't needed anymore.

I highly doubt they would even win WW3 given that their group is tiny compared to USA and other countries. If I recalled Balalakia and her group avoided fighting Roberta in OVA. If she was confident with her soldiers then they should’ve engaged her. Keep this in mind Roberta went up against US foxtrot unit that special ops, Colombia special forces (That dude from her unit was able to take her down temporarily), main cast, and Hotel Moscow. Keep this in mind that Roberta was drugged and hallucinating…in the manga and LN she didn’t take any damage which is insane. Also in manga and LN Balalaika was scared of Roberta just like everyone else.

Regarding Roberta punting Lotton in the nuts: in the anime you hear a loud clank. Now that seems like a slight sound effect gag but in the manga, he was wearing a steel nut cup. After she takes off, he pulls the cup out and the damn thing is collapsed from the force of that kick. Lotton is probably the only person in the series smart enough to wear body armor despite being a total goofball with everything else.

Aight so a few things for context, The grenade that hit Revy was most likely something like a chalk grenade, would still probably ruin normal people but its not a full explosive round so someone like Revy can live without stretching suspension of disbelief for the show. Balalaika is absolutely NOT TO BE FUCKED WITH. You ever wonder why she can order Revy around and she just does it? cause she is a fucking demon among demons. Oh and her "Russian mob" as CJ likes to call them is not the mob/mafia. They are more like the most ruthless and badass ex soldiers that were so fucked their home countries didnt want them anymore, So Balalaika took them in, paid off their bullshit, and basically said "work for me and you wont want for anything anymore" and now they worship her. Roberta in the manga didnt take ANY real injuries either. Also no they didnt fuck, he mislead the audience there XD. Home boy is another super soldier from the current version of her old unit. He says his boss wants her dead but he says that would be a waste of one of the best soldiers ever made. So they pretty much conspire to drop their boss and take over. Then they flirt a bit and she offs him.
