Yes, a longevity test would be sweet. Because from my experience. Many surfaces that appear Smooth. Are simply ABSORBING the Atmospheric Pollutants. And surfaces showing, or "Feeling" contaminates,.. are Rejecting Same. Because in almost every environment, there is particulate matter. It's the surface that doesn't absorb same that lasts the longest 👍

Late on the train here, but I got the Chemical guys HydoSlick put on my work truck back in Sept. of 2023. It's now March 2024. One wash in between, and driving through the snow and getting all sorts of road crap on the finish. I am seriously beyond impressed with the HydroSick. Throughout the snow fall, it straight up wasn't even sticking onto my truck. Only on my plastics that I didn't have protected. (Oops.) As the snow slipped off, it was funny, as it took a bunch of the dirt down with it! Had the cleanest truck in town for this whole winter! Probably should have kept up with it more though, as I did notice a bit through February that I did have a little bit of water and dirt stick a bit... but honestly, for that long without anything but a quick wash?? Impressed as hell. Would recommend.

That was a very good and descriptive review of the ceramic coatings!😁 My personal opinion on the next test is to leave the panel out in the sun for however long and do a couple of rinse Downs with the hose along with a couple washes to see which ones would hold up best in real time daily use. 🤔 You're absolutely amazing at what you do and to take the time out to do these reviews and explain all these different techniques and products to everyone else out there is exceptionally awesome! I've been a welder for around 7 years now and no a few Machinists so if there is something you would like to have or a customization let me know and I just might be able to help you out brother. Dude, I completely concur. That combo is just killer. I'm not one of the current durability freaks (although I consider it important) my first priority is "look" gloss/depth of color. Thanks Josh for the content. I think you're doing a great job. I appreciate you and the time you take to make these videos. Moving along to your review, I would prefer a "real world" scenario where the panel gets abused over time by the elements as in my eyes would seem more realistic and fair. I do realize you'd have to determine a realistic length of time to leave the panel out though. Btw, out of all of the products shown, I'm not surprised about the Turtle Wax or the Chemical Guys Ceramic being the top 2. I use them both amongst others that have a higher SiO2 concentration, and they really are impressive. Further than that, we know these 2 product lines are very aggressive following up and expanding with more complimentary products to keep your car super slick after the first application of what has been shown here with maintenance washes or ceramic quick detailers all the time. To the consumer, I would say just use a little common sense. Josh has already done the hard part (and thank you Josh), now choose which is most economical for your budget and roll with that line. You can't lose and as always ... READ and FOLLOW label instructions and in general when using ceramics leave a minimum of 24 to 36 hour window of curing time before exposed to rain or natural elements for best results. A good ceramic can take a week to 2 weeks to reach a "full cure" depending on its composition. That's what instructions are for. I'd hate to see anyone spend money and get it wrong, then hate on it. Best of luck Josh...keep grinding bringing the goodness -👍

i think the reason CG did so well in the sheet test is the technology of how the "wax" is incapsulated. It's not like a traditional wax, it's like a spray on coating suspended in a gel for a wax like application.

Thanks to your videos and content I am now much more comfortable washing and maintaining vehicles that I am even offering to wash other peoples cars because it is fun and the results are AWESOME! Thanks again! I did have a question if you have the time to answer. I am a fan of Chemical Guys Hydro Speed. I use it as a quick drying agent for my all my vehicles. Both cars have a ceramic coating so a weekly wash with this in the end seems to keep it buttery smooth and maintained. Do you have a comparable product or item you prefer? Thanks again!

I have used Hydro Speed as a drying agent and find that it can be a little difficult to dry off but the results are exactly what you described, buttery smooth to the touch. I applied Hydro slick almost a year ago and it is till maintaining the beeding and sheeting.

Nice comparison test. I think I'd go with the Turtle Wax. Graphene supposedly fights off water spots. That and CG's losing sickness after a little water makes the TW pull ahead for me. That said, I need a little help. About a week ago (Thursday before Mother's Day) there was a wildfire locally (SoFL Everglades was burning). That day all I could do was grab the garden hose and rinse off the thick chunky ash that the 15 minutes of heavy rain brought down from the sky. It looked like it was going to keep raining, so didnt want to get involved with washing a car in the rain. Took me until the following Thursday to try and do more. All I had was maybe 30 minutes, so I dragged out the PW, gave the car a quick foam bath and rinse. This really did nothing for the smoke film. The next day I was able to foam, contact wash, and IronX. It's considerably better, but I can still see a little remaining smoke film. Being a CA guy and with the wildfires you have out there, do you have any thoughts? The wax is at the end of its life anyway, so I don't care if I strip whatever's left. Should I hit the whole car with Super Clean? Should I just get a stripping wash? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

@rsreidjr a few more washes and a clay treatment (really one of those reusable ones, not true clay bar), and it was all good. I think there may have been a second Iron-X treatment as well. Actually, there almost certainly was since I gave it a clay-ing. A year ago is kinda hard to remember. There was a quick once over with heavily diluted Super Clean to try and strip the wax in one of those washes. I don't recall how well it worked. In hot, bright South Florida sun, I was nervous about paint damage, so dwell time for that was almost zero. I'm not sure I'd do that again, at least not without access to shade. Too nerve wracking, especially after seeing how well the stuff cleaned up my BBQ grill.
