I love my husband. I always interfere and he never tells me off he listens and mutually respects me for having an opinion. If I’m wrong he will explain why I’m wrong and why I should drop that thought. I’m so happy I don’t have to tip toe around him Alhumdholillah. Luckily i came across this video while surfing, after listning to it i texted him i havent taken dinner yet. I am still waiting for you. Will u come or u will get late . He replied me right away that he is done with his work he is about to leave for home. Thanks for highlighting this issue. I never realised i do this mistake so frequently untill i watched this video. I agree that phrasing and tones are important. But there should be an equal love and respect in ANY relationship, not just romantic. I should not be scared to tell my husband if we are going the wrong way. That is not a marriage, that is a dictatorship. I have to pretend weakness to build his ego, when I can do something myself. I am not looking for a savior, I can provide for myself. I want a partner that removes the burdens of being alone, not add stress because I have to suppress who I am. If we don't communicate effectively then he is not the man Allah selected for me.

The video is not saying put duct tape on your mouth and never express yourself. It is just saying that you should respect your husbands choice and have confidence in them. You should let him learn from his mistakes more than simply telling him what to do like his mother would. I don’t know about you, but sometimes making mistakes can be fun (I’m talking about little ones like the wrong turn during driving lol). We’re human after all. most of the comments are talkin about expectations than one‘s responsibilities. if you wanna be loved, you have to love first, wanna be respected, respect first. wanna have the best husband, be the best wife. same goes for the man. people should focus on our responsibilities than focus on expectations such as i hope my partner is like this and that. we rather should think like „i should be good like this and that to my partner so she/he would do the same to me“. better dont have any expectations at all. cause you will be disappointed, but you will never be disappointed if you put your expectations to Allah since he‘s the best Planer. may Allah makes it easier for us to be a better person day by day

Respect should be earned. Most men are child like, they don't behave like a responsible adult . Now women are the care taker by nature. What would you do when a child does something wrong, you would correct them. If men are mentioned to be the qawaam then they should behave like one. No offense

Zain Khan By care taker she means that women are nurturing, that's why we are the ones to give birth and look after children and nurture them. She is not being unthankful to her father so don't make assumptions like that. Women don't think all men are evil and that is not what she is saying either. She is saying if a man makes a mistake then you should correct them which is true. Correcting someone is not disrespecting them, it is helping them learn which they should appreciate. Women also expect respect, love, loyalty and honesty from men and that is what they deserve as the Prophet pbuh always said to respect your wives. Your wife is not your slave, you need to treat her as you would expect to be treated otherwise she will not be happy and you will not have a happy marriage. And many women also work, it is not just men that earn and reding your comment it doesn't sound like you will be making you wife's life better because that can only be done if you respect her. And also having a big ego is disliked in Islam so don't be too proud of it.
@cheeney_6478
@cheeney_6478 6 жыл бұрын
Zain Khan Don't paint all women as the same. We have muslim men that are not righteous either and muslim women that aren't righteous. Respect are earned not given when they don't deserve it, same goes for both men and women. Marriage is an honest relationship not some sugar-coated relationship when you aren't comfortable with something.

I love traditional masculinity, BUT: when i told him i was translating a book of Bengali poetry from English, he started laughing at me. "U cant be capable of that, u need a poetry mind for that". It hurt me so deeply, i will never forget. I finished the book and one of my friends, who is an editor, helped me publish it. He never read it. I always write short stories and collect them in a new book: he never asked what i am writing about, not a single time. I thought a man would love to know the deep thoughts of his wife, what her concerns about the world r, what is having such impacts on her...that she needs to write about. Its a way of discovering ur partner, right? He never bothered with one question. I am calling him myself "baba", like our daughters, i am like his little girl, he is melting then. He needs be babied when he is sick, i do it. He is engineer and manager, has stress at work, i always comfort him, always calming him down so that he could deal properly with his superior. About his work, yes, he always talks to me. He WANTS me to be like a wife, mother, sister, FRIEND... and i am all that, he says it himself. But when it comes to MY needs, everything becomes just so...formal. For long years i have told myself he is just too stressed, a lot of responsibilities, as many members of the family hang on him as well. But i KNOW that the man who loves his wife can fix her back with only one word, its not what u say, its HOW u say. He has 6 sisters, two of them love me crazily, i think this is why i am still a part of this family, plus my daughters, obviously, but my daughters r my own family. I am caring, i am funny, i am peaceful, he feels like the man of the men when he goes for two hours with his friends for a coffee in weekend and his wife doesnt freak him out with phone calls, its him who calls:"I am coming, need anything from outside?", while the friends's wives had called ten times to complain they were left alone for too long. He is happy because i am convenient. But he doesnt love me. So, its a two ways Street, people! Remember that!

3 years late, but, have you tried telling him this? In cases such as these, the husband isn't even aware that there is an issue. It's like having a mother/wife/friend who does it all without complaining. You begin to take it for granted. Doesn't mean you don't love the person. You just don't feel the need to do anything extra. You're perfectly content with the status quo. That's probably how it is for your husband! But men can be taught how to treat you! Respectfully, kindly, and without backtracking, teach him how you want to be treated!

My husbands a bloody idiot. Makes the same mistakes repeatedly. The first few times i let him. After a long time i was over it. I set him straight. Im not a damsel. I dont need a husband to rescue me. I rescue myself from bad situations. I rescue my husband from everything. Hes a ridiculous man but he has the biggest heart in the world. I didnt marry him for his rescuing abilities or because of his intelligence. I married him because he is everything i am not. He is kind. He is gentle. He is caring and loving. I am practical. I am assertive. I am smarter than him. I am everything he is not. Together it feels like we are one whole person. People used him, walked all over him. Took his kindness for weakness. He could never stand up for himself. I was always ready to fight, ready to stand up for my rights and i never let anyone walk over me. When we got together I fought for him. Showed him he was worthy of being respected and that he was worth fighting for. He put a gentle arm on my shoulder whenever i got into situations that i believed required me to fight back. He let me know that i didnt have to fight all the time. That it was ok to let smaller things pass because i wasnt alone anymore. Because he would be right there with me throughout it all. If i held back when i became his wife and trusted his judgement and stroked his ego we would be raising a family in the spare room of someone elses home. We would not be able to enjoy the life we are blessed to have today. As he says, i am the fire that drives him to be the best version of himself. I never let him fall. I never let him break. Thats how i respect my husband. I help him acknowledge his weaknesses and then i help him strengthen them. That to me is how you let a man be a man. That is how he became a strong man. Thats the kind of man i need. Playing to his ego will only give him a false sense of masculinity. Id rather my man have a huge ego with the proof to back it up

In videos like this, they forget to mention that the Prophets and their companions were men who were WORTHY of respect! They were men who behaved in a respectful manner! Men who want to be respected, have to demonstrate their worth first. And giving them respect means that the wife in turn expects respect, if she is respectful as well! Islam doesn't promote respect for one gender only. First try to be good decent human beings, then focus on being good wives and husbands. People can't even get the basics right. And Muslims in patriarchal societies, don't raise their sons according to Islam to begin with. Good Muslim men aren't abusive, controlling or condescending.

Lol if I wouldn’t correct my husband when he drives we would never reach our destinations. I guess it depends on each person, you can’t generalize like that. My husband expects me to correct him if he’s wrong and that’s normal? As a married couple we are equals and you don’t just let your other half do something stupid so you don’t hurt their ego? I mean, if his ego is that big, that is HIS problem and it doesn’t mean you have to just sit silent and accept. That’s just my opinion.

Some of you critizes these methods but I have to say that it works. A few years ago I was acting like his mother constantly telling him stuff to do showing no respect allthough he wasnt showing respect to me also to begin with, but thats not how you win!! Then I studied the Islam more and it gave me sooomuch peace in my heart and dua and somehow ryour husband can feel when you are calm. I did these things You cantalk calm about problems but not constantly talking about the negative. You first have to respect and be confident, eaven if hes not treating you right, it can change. But you have to use your mind if somebody is abusing you hitting you and youre in danger offcourse it may be the best option for you to leave and in that case these methods wont work! But Allah gave you brains so start using them.

That's neeed alot of courage and you have to believe in yourself that you are not less then anyonr neither grater. We all are equal but few girls become trouble for their own self they damage the relation by keep saying and repeating the same thing just to seek their importance, well if one is important then you can never be replaced so don't worry, you can't tie anyone, you will have the relation as you treat the relation .

But men do not acknowledge those wives that respect them. I've seen living and dead examples. They flirt with other women because they know their wives would trust and respect them no matter what or they keep making other mistakes because she is so pious that she will have to respect him in any case. Men do not give back. There are some men that make huge life changing mistakes and you expect the wife to support his stupidity. These men do not learn from their mistakes. No man wants a motherly figure? Hahaha I know men who married women stating the only reason being characteristically similar to their mothers. It's extremely difficult to trust a fool who can't decide anything right for himself let alone for others. And a person can be successful only when he gains a control over his ego. How can a sane woman encourage him to nurture one? Love and admiration are not the things women want. Wow, to talk to your husband now we need to prepare a speech. What's wrong with you? Is he going to do the same? Shouldn't both be comfortable with each other? He is a husband not a master! THE ONLY WAY TO A SUCCESSFUL MARRIAGE IS RELIGION APART IS TO APPRECIATE EVERY LITTLE GOOD OR KIND ACT AND BE THANKFUL TO EACH OTHER.

So the reality stands now I don't respect his opinion anymore. I never heard his encouragement! However, I agree some points of this video not all of them. Both wife and husband need MUTUAL RESPECT for each other. Be like our Prophet Muhammad and his wives.

I knew the comment section was going to be trash. If you're Muslim and you don't agree with the way Allah created both male and female then something is clearly wrong with you. You think there's fault in Allah's wisdom. Husbands have SO MANY rights over their wives, that's just an Islamic ruling that you have to abide by. And in return, wives have their rights over men so STOP COMPLAINING. Stop comparing yourself to a man. He's a whole different gender. He thinks differently, acts differently, and has a completely different mindset. Stop thinking you're oppressed and stop thinking like a feminist. That's a western, non Muslim mentality that shouldn't be mixed up with the teachings of Islam. Women complain way too much and find fault in everything a guy does. Look at your faults first and fix them.

It is so simple , A Man's ego is delicate when he makes a mistake try to correct him in a manner that doesn't hurt his ego however u see fit. Just dont hurt his ego. It is like a game really "try and get what u want without hurting his ego" bonus points if u can boost his ego (he will love u even more for it ). There is a saying in my country : a smart women can control a man without him even knowing. Act vulnerable so he can protect. Both u and ur husband know u can open that jar of pickles but asked for his help just to boost that ego . U can call a Plummer to fix the sink but ask ur husband to fix it instead again boost the ego .say the shopping bags r heavy. He will carry them Now u become his source for happiness he feels appreciated valued in ur eyes and that all he wanted . JUST LET HIM. Be his queen not his partener. Let him be ur knight not ur friend Ur appreciation is what he looks for. Give him that and he will come back for more.( it is not a drug or anything lol it ia very healthy)

Thank God my Dad's thinking is not as egotistical as this man! Ma sha Allah dad knows he's just as human as a female not above or below. He is so humble, he knows his directions are bad so he makes either me (his daughter) or mum sit next to him to guide him especially for new trips. He always accepts his mistakes and we help him with directions with no trouble. I get what the sheikh was trying to say, but I'm sorry, he took it too far. I am disgusted by the wrong he preached here, even my dad said; males are already more aggressive, angry, less remorseful, egotistical than women (look at jails) and to preach on large scale to turn a blind eye to mistakes of male is non-Islamic. Telling women to stroke the male ego when he's wrong!? Allah will serve the same punishment regardless of male or female, no concessions Thank you! So who are you to do such a bias? The sheikh should really not give in to his personal agenda and be careful when preaching.

The Husband is In More Power over the wife over certain issues such as where to buy a house or where the kids are going to school or what devices and gadgets will be allowed in the house and so on. His decision will be taken into consideration over these such big issues. And the remaining less important things such as what to cook or so will be discussed as by the family. You cannot dent that the man is Qawwaam over the women, Allah says it. No matter what anyone’s father thinks(pls don’t take that the wrong way, I respect your father)Allah said it.

In this video only the first example was a bit too dumb. But the message of this video was to choose words wisely. Its the same in exchange, men have to talk to their wives in a respectful way without making them look dumb. Or their wives will just feel sad about the marriage. No woman on earth wants to be treated like an ignorant one who doesnt understand things. If the man gives her that feeling she will be hurt. Maybe you didnt watch the full video, its more about choosing the right words. Dont make fun of your husband or wife, treat them with respect and its all good.

Dont, this video is wrong u r your only leader and u dont need anyone to control u. we live in the 21 century women are independent and have jobs and can offer for themselves. DONT EVEN STAY QUIET IF A MAN OR ANYONE DOES A MISTAKE. Islam advises us to help others if they do mistakes. WOMEN are much more valuable than that and me and u as women should educate sexist men like these^^ and prove to them how capable we are. we shouldnt be mislead by society's views we should follow islam and this isnt what islam asks us to do.

Zie IsTheBomb oh I love this reply. When the speaker was talking of why the husband hasn't fixed the faucet, his "other priorities" in my head I was just thinking: or he just forgot and he constantly needs reminding or it will never get done. I absolutely detest nagging but I will have to so it if the husband cannot do what he says he will do, or at least tell me when to expect it to be done by. You can't just leave issues on the hands of a man indefinitely just because he said he will do it when his track record shows that he may forget.

Men and women both want love, cherishment, and respect all together. This video is a means of describing those that deflate the male ego. And do not think the male ego is thinking he is better than everyone. The male ego in this instance is the pride he has for knowing he is capable for giving his wife and family everything they need.
