Making 200k total comp is not the same thing as making 200k… Around 60k of this is stock options vested over 4 years, leaving you with 140k, 20k sign on and 20k bonus… your actual salary is 100k and everything else is individual and company performance dependent

Nobody gets 200k for a start without experience. Only big tech companies pay high but they are all laying off badly currently. Tech jobs have become very less from past 2 years. Trend continues into 2024. There was a time when companies paid more but now it’s employers market. Too much supply less jobs.
