Him fighting against his tears made me cry (and also the fact that the first thing that came to his mind was to tell us to hug our dads, it just goes to show how good of a person he is), that's how much he means to me and to all of you as well, i'm sure. And as a person who has a language barrier between me and my dad, i'd love to hug him but it would just come off forced.

@nomoretwitterhandles

@@phonegloomy First of all, you CANNOT say you have "soon-to-be diagnosed autism" if you are not diagnosed, because that implies that you WILL be diagnosed (which you don't know if you will). Autism isn't a cute or quirky character trait, it's a big pain in the ass. If you're symptomatic of autism then just say so, but do not claim to be autistic or "soon to be autistic 🤪". A lot of us go through extensive screening and tests so we can have answers, not so we can brag about having autism on the internet.

@nomoretwitterhandles As someone with autism as well, I dont think thats how they meant it and this was an unnecessarily aggressive response. If they are autistic, you just ostracized someone in your own community. I get what you're trying to say but I dont think thats how they meant it. Maybe they're 100% sure but are just going through the formalities of getting diagnosed. Sometimes you just know, you know? I knew for a while before I got formally diagnosed. Anyways, good luck out there everybody!

loss is such a hard part of reality, but i want you to know that as someone who lost their dad/ basically best friend about 7 years ago i understand your grief. the moment you started talking about it i truly saw myself in your demeanor. i want to thank you for sharing this so openly, i know there are so so many who can relate to this and even feel more seen in their own grief because of it. i also know this could not have been comfortable, making it so much more meaningful to me at least. grief isn’t comfortable, but i don’t think it is meant to be, especially not at first. there is peace eventually but there will always be times where it all feels too raw again. that’s just because those people will never leave you really, which is something i find sort of beautiful. thank you again for this moment, and know his memory can always live on through you and countless others who loved him. p.s. in case you do see this i just need you to know that my first introduction to you was the song “In Love With A Creeper” and i still bump it constantly. i have forced many of my friends to listen to it as well and they have agreed it’s just objectively good.

I lost my father when I was 13 years old and I learned that the first fathers day and the first one of pretty much each holiday without him is really hard, but it does get easier through the years. From everything youve ever said about him on your channel, your stepdad was an awesome man and he obviously loved you and your sister a lot. Your community loves you and were all sending our deepest condolences (btw, you slayed this episode, per usual) take care Mr. Mayor

The good thing about being as empathetic and caring as you are, is that you’ve surrounded yourself with viewers that have the same empathy and care. I feel like I can speak for everyone when I say that you don’t ever have to worry about how sharing your feelings or personal experiences with us will effect how we see you or your content. I personally don’t take in any form of content with the goal of laughing the entire time. It sounds like Lawrence was an awesome guy, and I’m sorry for your loss. I hope that your family heals and that you have some better days ahead. For the sake of not sounding like the bumble guy, I’ll leave it at that.

My stepdad passed away in 2020 because of covid. I also saw him as my dad. The best thing for me was to embrace the love and support from friends and family that I had around me during that hard time. Also letting myself cry it out and express that emotion rather than pushing it down has helped too.

Kurtis I’m so sorry about Lawrence. I wish you the most comfort and love in your healing process, it’s the absolute worst. My stepdad, who was like a father to me, passed away in January and it’s been a lot of crying and laughing and uncomfortable jokes and more crying and Father’s Day this year sucked so much without him but it will get easier to think about him over time without crying. But in the meantime, do not apologize for crying and feeling and all the other terrible parts of grief. Sending all my love to you and your family ❤

Hi Kurtis! I'm a proud member of kurtistown and wanted to say that I've developed really and anxiety over the last year and it's really hard for me to do simple things like shower or do my makeup without feeling anxious but your podcast has really helped me to just zone out and be present and laugh when I feel like I don't have control of my anxiety. Thank u for what you do, I'm so sorry for your loss and congrats on the variety article!!

Holy shit dude I'm so sorry to hear about your step-dad. Sending you and your family condolences. I hope you let yourself take time off if you need it, everyone would understand. You've mentioned a few times over the years how important he is to you. Like everyone here, I'm always happy to see a new episode, but I'd never want you to feel obligated. If working helps, then I'm all for it, but if it doesn't then please put yourself first. None of us are going anywhere, there's no rush, and we'd rather you be well than anything else.

I swear grief is the weirdest - you can be sitting there thinking about someone you’ve lost and no tears but the second you start trying to talk out loud about that person it’s almost impossible not to cry. Lost my Dad 2 years ago and I still make him a card for Father’s Day

Holy cow brother. You had me actually crying there at the end. Don’t feel like you have to act in a certain way when you are who you are and everyone came here to see you. It is a very emotional situation when you lose someone you love. I think it’s healthy to talk about stuff I am going through because it makes it easier for me to process. Sending my deepest condolences! I mask with comedy as well.❤

Take breaks and time for yourself during your grieving process. Never feel bad for expressing how you feel, the situation is tragic and crying is completely understandable. Peace and love 💗💗💗
