Haha those clips of Washington Road made me lol. I’m from Augusta and have been in the local lottery for life time badges for awhile now. Once that day comes, I’ll definitely have Spudrun in mind!

Spud Run never fails to amaze me. Can't wait to play here again. Green was plenty fast when we played it. Keep it healthy!

Greens looking great! I too would sacrifice a little speed to have a healthy green. If you want a speeder green just use that front right pin location 😀. Can’t wait to play your course again.

I worked at a top 10 course in Georgia. The greens rolled 11-12 on a regular basis. They rolled up to 14-15 for the US open qualifier, which is held there every other year. The greens were top dressed once every 7 days all summer long. This is costly not only for sand and manpower but for the costs of more blade sharpening and replacing. At any rate, cutting daily, switching direction of cut, as well as weekly top dressing were the keys to having such firm and fast tour level greens. Also the greens mowers height were always around .09 in. And checked/ sharpened after every cut to have perfect paper shearing cut, with no bend or folding of paper across the whole bed knife. Give or take a few .001. Backlapping and or grinding the reels and bed knifes were done any day necessary. These practices are just a few of the biggest differences in your high end average clubs. Spraying, verticutting, and airation are other more obvious practices. Rolling will bring more speed but definitely want to be implementing sand and regularly verticutting so that grass is not just laying over which overtime will make a more spongy and less desirable putting surface. Also the grass used on these greens is Bermuda tiff eagle. I believe same principles apply for bent and others though.

Have you ever thought about putting down some peat moss on your new section of the green? I mix sand and peat moss with bent grass seed for my ruff/patchy areas. It’s seems to do the trick. One bail from Lowe’s is $22. Should be more than enough

I’ll look into this. Thanks

Asst super here. Try light topdressing just the weaker areas of the add one. Also might be too late in the year but try some quick release fert like a 14-7-14. .50lb of n solves it all lol

Maybe have the greens mowers do a cleanup lap every other or few days on greens to help with edges.

Yea I had mine at about a 9 at one point. That seemed really good for speed. I think people have a mis conception of the stimp. Same guys that hit it “320” think there local muni rolls 12!

I bought one of those plastic water rollers from Amazon and filled it with concrete. After I mow at .125 I’m usually at 8 on the stimp. Then I Roll it then I’m at 9. You could probably rig up one to tow with a mower or ATV.
