Nardu is only good in one case: for someone who plays their first commander game and needs to experience a serotonin increase because they are doing things. I am not that kind of person normally, but this will get banned 100%. I don't see why this can exist for a long time.

Nadu doesn't even draw cards, it puts them into your hand. So you can't even punish it with things like bow masters or Sheoldred. It's absurd

But drawing a card has more benefits than down sides, so if it said draw it’d be even more broken. Imagine teferi’s ageless insight or Alhamerets archive giving them double the card advantage, Alandra or Jolrael or Minn creating tokens, or chasm skulker and farie vandal getting counters etc. The putting into hand instead of drawing was the only thing they did correctly with this card haha

Nadu feels a lot like Paradox Engine: capable of spinning wheels forever for lots of value, taking lots of turn time, and not necessarily ending the game. I'm not going to be building it, and I'm going to be very hesitant to sit down in a pod where someone is playing it.

We also got Springheart Nantuko, which is now the cheapest creature in the game with a landfall ability that makes a token and is in Nadu's colours, so you could theoretically go turn 1 Shuko, turn 2 Springheart Nantuko, turn 3 Nadu and draw your whole deck + put all your lands into play on turn 3

@@jlaw131985 You don't bestow the Nantuko, you cast it as a creature on turn 2. Nantuko creates 1/1 insect tokens for free if you don't pay the cost. Turn 3 you move the Shuko for zero mana back and forth, dropping lands, creating tokens, and going infinite unless you get really unlucky with land drops the first 4 reveals.

Aside from Nadu and Necrobloom, I think Ashling is a very powerful commander. -- The fact that you can rummage your whole library with something like fury storm (or any two fork-spells) is bananas. AND be left with 4 red mana, which in red, and after sculpting the perfect hand there are a handful of ways to win not to mention having a load of fuel for Underworld Breach... But also if you already have something like Glint-Horn or Brallin on the field, that's GGs, as long as each opponent's life total is less than the amount of cards in your library.

I've been taking a break from Magic since Lost Caverns of Ixalan. I was feeling really burnt out, but this was the first Command Zone video I've watched since taking my break. I wanted to see if any cards would pull me back in... and then I saw Nadu and I thought "actually I'm good, I'm not jumping back in." These pushed cards are going to push people out of the game.

Another thing for Arna is Neon Dynasty reconfigure creatures. You can use them as early bodies, then reconfigure as equipment when you get your bigger threats. Then after making copies reconfigure the tokens back into creatures to get value bodies every turn. Plus theres some great effects like Accq Octopus draw, Armguard familiar stacking Ward and Cloudsteel Kirin preventing you from losing and Lion Sash graveyard hate. Don't sleep on reconfigure being value for Arna. Also Helm of the host is insane due to the timings. Beginning of combat make a copy of Arna then 2 Arnas each make copies of HotH and you snowball out of control if no one stops you. (and assuming a legend effect ignorer, which based on deck tech could also be a lot of value allowing you to use myriad effects)

The Spawns and scions are 0/1 and 1/1, so I think Ezuri is especially nice in the Azlask deck as now you will get EXP counters on the scions/spawns entering and when they die essentially doubling your EXP counter generation. So the payoff here isn't in the +1/+1 counters Ezuri gives (Although they are nice) it in the EXP generation.

@@kamikazehansu I've been playing it a bit, and the precon does have some fun stuff... but man does it require a lot of tuning (which is NOT a good sign for a precon, but I digress) biggest thing I did was take out a good chunk of the tap lands and either put in basics or shock/pain lands after that, I noticed the deck has elements of sacrificing stuff, milling, and cascading... and I just got rid of the one I like the least (cascade), and slotted in more cards to mill myself and others as both of the commanders really care about that. Afterwards, it started playing *much* more consistently Don't lose hope on it! The deck can cook pretty good with just a few small tweaks imo

Notably for Azlask, he is great as a experience generator for all the other previous experience commanders, making each and every one of them true bombs while also letting them all be in the same deck. Having both Minthara and Otherri in play, with lets say 10 exp mean you create 11 13/2 attacking rebels on attack. Also, druids repertoire is busted in the deck.

The funny thing I like about Azlak's 2nd ability is that since it states "scions and SPAWNS you control gain indestructible and annihilator 1..." you can run the from the 40K decks enchantment "The Lost and the Damned" Whenever a land enters the battlefield under your control from anywhere other than your hand or you cast a spell from anywhere other than your hand, create a 3/3 RED SPAWN creature token. AND/OR creature "Magnus the Red" Unearthly Power - Instant and sorcery spells you cast cost {1} less to cast for each creature token you control. Blade of Magnus - Whenever Magnus the Red deals combat damage to a player, create a 3/3 RED SPAWN creature token.

Something that almost everyone seems to miss with the 0 mana equip artifacts- you DON'T need another creature to use the ability twice on Nadu (except for Lightning Greaves). You can equip an equipment to a creature it's already equipped to.

Playing Necrobloom, pretty fun to dredge Boseiju (also fun to not hesitating using it on T2 to destroy a sol ring, my god the joy it gives) or Takenuma each turn and destroy plenty of Artifact or Enchant each turn or Return 1 or more creatures from my graveyard each turn :D I also play Chiss goria you're talking about at the end of the video, It's a super powerful and funny deck, it usually ends in 3 vs me. XD

To elaborate - blinking individual creatures will reset the "twice per turn" clause given by Nadu, for every creature that you blink. Blinking Nadu will remove him from play (taking away the ability from everything else from play), then return him to play (giving a new instance of the ability, presumably with no memory of previous activations). I saw Nadu, and wishes desperately it had only worked on opponents targeting it. It would've been really fun to play a commander who protects your big creatures with some card draw and mana to offset the removal sent your way. But yeah, I think I probably won't make Nadu for that deck.

Ecological Appreciation cant (or shouldn't, rather) find Hydras since they enter the battlefield, have 0 Toughness, and die (some exceptions apply). Rather, you'll be looking for things like Nyxbloom Ancient, Keyword Anthem creatures, and other combo peices a'la Selvala

Regarding Nadu, winged wisdom. Just so you guys know, if you have an equipment equipped to a creature, you don’t need to have another creature in play to re-equip the same creature. Say you have Umbral Mantle equipped to Nadu and you want to trigger his ability again, you just have to activate the equip ability again targeting Nadu. The rules are weird and allow this. Don’t believe me? Try it in arena.

It's a shame that Nadu is so powerful. If it had been nerfed just a tad I would have considered it as a interchangeable commander in an Ivy, gleeful spellthief deck that utilizes mutate creatures and maybe and Orvar/quasiduplicate shell. Technically was the missing piece I was looking for. I'm concerned with price in relation to ban potential. Wotc had 1 job! Shucks 😈But Arena Brawl is not in paper 😈 so fair game? 😂

I think Arna would make a good Bestow commander. Arna gives you token copies of your bestow auras. If the board gets wiped, your bestowed auras become creatures. Then you just bestow those creatures to buff them up. Then you replay Arna to copy those bestowed auras.

This is how I’ve been building a deck for her on moxfield. It’s resiliant, and because they’re enchantments there’s good ways to recur them from the graveyard en mass or each turn. Like that new white mana rock

Why bother? Unless it is an instant boardwipe, the turn nadu comes out that Player is getting ahead by 4 turns at _minimum,_ if the deck is constructed halfway competently. Wiping nadu does basically nothing, you need instant-speed removal or, better yet, just counterspells.

No competitive or high level player is going to whip out their 'Nadu' at a table filled with krekos, Arashis or ashayas. They'll go up against their kind who can respond with and deal with it in kind. Any casual player who plays for fun in a pod can simply decide to not play against it in the same way they can decide not to play against Tivit or Tymna and Kraum.

I think Nadu was supposed to read as if the ability could only trigger twice each turn not twice for each creature but it's printed wrong on the card because as is it's just busted, not to mention that if it was to trigger only twice each turn period it'll still be busted. What do you guys think?

I am really into the idea of Arna Kennerud. The first equipment I thought of was Assimilation Aegis, but the second I thought of were throwing knife and shuriken equipment cards. There are several versions that all do similar things, you have the equipped creature sacrifice them to deal damage. This can work great with Arna since it makes copies. Every attack you can throw another knife or shuriken

For the genku future shaper deck you could put Ojer taq deepest foundation because he triples the amount of tokens you create, and he kinda has a blink effect worked into his mechanics, which makes him even more powerful

Kudo as a protection piece for Hydra type creatures is slept on a bit. It's not as powerful as tokens, but Kudo stops any effects that remove all the counters from killing the base 0/0s...and functions as a +2/+2 for them otherwise.

Man, Kudo should have protection from creatures with power and toughness 2. That way it’s actually the king among Bears instead of just trading with the other bears. Or be like a 2/3.
