About the parallel grounding putting two rods next to each other it’s losing time and money, to properly improve the grounding impedance you have to set them apart with a distance of at least 2mts. To properly measure the improvement you need a specialized ohm ground meter.

Thanks for the input Francisco.

The distance between 2 rods is twice the length of the rod. So if you are using 10' rods, the distance between them is 20'. So, yes, is a whas

It is great to uese two parallel ground rods but they should be 2 meter apart. 20 feet down in ground and a length of 2 meter or 6 feet . earthing pit should be filled with chemical powder.

Good size copper, i guess the panels are pretty strong , but I wouldn't walk on them just in case, I've actually seen small hairline cracks in the individual solar cells that make up a solar panel from people manoeuvring panels with their hands pushing against the backside of the panels.

What kind of ground bars did you use? Also what if you add more solar panels..Do you have to replace all of the ground wire?
@jwsolarusa4 жыл бұрын
Hello and welcome to jwsolarusa. I have two six foot copper ground rods with #6 AWG copper wire I interconnect the solar modules. You can find or buy these components at your local hardware stores like: HOME DEPOT, LOWE'S, MENARDS or any of your local Electrical hardware stores. If i decided to add more solar modules, I will have to continue with the same circuit from where I stopped. Thanks for asking, LIKE & SUBSCRIBE to my channel for more CONTENT coming your way.

Not too sure but copper and aluminum in contact will cause corrosion. In other grounding they keep the copper 1 inch away while using a stainless connector. I am about to built my own so I am doing research now.

What about the inverters and your house? Do they use the same ground rod? I was thinking if lightning hits a tree near by then a different voltage would be induced at the different ground points/rods which could lead to damage to the electronics (inverters etc) at least. I'm not sure if these regulations are always sensible (drawn up by fallable humans like you and I).
