The big advantage of the seagull mechanical movement is its aesthetics, it looks great. If they are just going to use a steel caseback so you can't see the movement, then they may as well use a VK61 in the watch.

Beautiful looking watch. Big fan of the Loreato didn’t know anyone made a homage. Would love an exhibition case but other than that it looks awesome.

Another great detailed review, thank you. I think this looks better than the standard single time version I just wish the sub dials were slightly larger in size and take up a little more space on the dial but overall it looks like a great watch

Wow. Not a fan of integrated bracelet watches but this looks real nice and at that price , I could see this in my watch lineup!

Good to see they are going with a simple logo and have ditched the horrible written “BETTIMER” branding. That has cost them many sales of their dress watch. Hopefully that will be the way forward for all their watches.

Great improvements on the size and branding. I do like it a lot, but have doubts about the blue hands. Also, the ST19 is so nice, pity the caseback is closed

Tried your link : for my country it is at 268 EUR + 86 EUR carriage. Just insane.

And directly from the manufacturer's webstore, impossible to order for my country (FR)

As much as I like the changes, unfortunately screw-down crown on this ST190x movement is a large oversight that can lead to problems. As these need winding almost every other day, constant unscrewing/screwing of the crown will eventually wear those threads. Also, these movements do not have a ‘clutch’ to enable the crown to continue turning after the movement is fully wound. Therefore, when the movement is at full power, the crown literally cannot be screwed back in. Forcing it will destroy the movement. So the only solution is to either never fully wind to complete power reserve, else leave the crown unscrewed while the power depletes until it can be screwed back in. This is a larger risk to longevity and water resistance than just leaving as a push-pull crown in the first place! Especially as it already has two non-screw pushers…

@ahirshfield In regards to screwing the crown down once the movement is fully windup it looks like there is some kind of a safety mechanism. Because I noticed that the crown disengages from the main spring when pushed into the thread for screwing in.

@ Ah great to know. I stand corrected on that point and if only other ST19 manufacturers would do the same!

I’ve never been a huge fan of integrated bracelets but this piece has me strongly reconsidering. Personally, I like the screw down crown. I prefer then be screw down on every watch I buy. I do realize it’s not truly needed these days as my newer Seikos have push/pull crowns and have never given me any issues. I’m just a creature of habit I suppose.

Interesting. It seems to have good legibility, but the screw-down crown would be a deal-breaker for me.

Terrible name, shoddy movement, unoriginal design. What’s not to love?
