It looks like charizard side b into something then bounces off, but I thought you couldn't change Pokémon if it was within the last 2 seconds of using them. How did they switch back to one they were just on so fast. Is there any type of canceling or something going on? Or just well timed?

Using special moves overrides that 2-second timer. It’s why you see a lot of Squirtle switching, then Ivysaur Vine Whip, then immediate switch to Charizard Fly.

The reason you have to wait to switch is because the Trainer's animation of recalling and sending out pokemon. Using a taunt or special move cancels that switch animation and lets you switch again a bit early. Because Ivysaur's up B stalls them in the air, you can switch from Squirtle, Ivy up B, switch, jump jump into Zard up b. That's how you recover low as PT.

I swear the distance on recoveries feels inconsistent asf sometimes. Like that first clip, even with his jump, that's more vertical distance than I've ever seen an Incineroar get.
