Stern blocking the CP3 trade makes sense. The League at the the time “owned” the Hornets. The clipper trade was the better trade for the Hornets. There for the acting owner, Stern turned down the Lakers trade. That said the NBA definitely bent over backwards for LBJ. Giving him whomever he asked for and paying off the the teams that were hurt in the process . I’m no expert but my opinion is the new CBA is a direct result of these kind of shady moves. Making it much harder for a team to have multiple max contract guys.
