Imagine that. A street sweeper that actually cleans the street. Unlike the ones in Los Angeles that just blow the dirt and trash around. Also, giving the excuse to the city to write street sweeping tickets.

The city machines are deliberately designed to do a bad job so the city can explain that the streets are still dirty and they need more money to hire more layabouts to vote for them. Welcome to the never-ending cesspool of city politics.

I drove a street sweeper for the city of Fullerton California and it was a lot of fun. The thing about it would be the residents would sweep their leaves and debris from the yard into the curb and the sweeper would fill up too fast and I wouldn’t get the route done because you’d have to go back to the maintenance yard to empty the sweeper and you run out of time to finish the route. The sweeper would get jammed with sticks people would throw in the gutters.

The leaf vacuum following 5:00 does a great job on dry leaves. Just like the ones we had in the 1950s. Only problem is if those leaves are wet--they usually are in New England--the vacuum will jam quickly and take a lot of time and effort to clear. This segment doesn't address that problem!

Something that should be done by one or two people with a broom at a cost of 20$/hour or so. It truly baffles me how much that continent likes to just spend on stupid gadgets for problems that don't actually exist. That massive Scania truck with the water tank on the back just spraying water all over the place to clean a street. Hello??? Guy with a leaf blower can do it for 1/10,000th of the cost.
