Thats so amazing that you dug up and preserved & restored these rare artistic types of bottles that were discarded at the time without a thought for how pretty the glass was. Just love stuff like this. Thank you for sharing!

such rare colors on the sho-fly flasks, very early examples loaded with imperfections, air bubbles which is why they are so special.

Good morning Mark. Max has one heck of a collection. I’ve spoken with him a few years back about the Gold Rush Belt Buckle Book he put together. He is an encyclopedia for this time in history. Appreciate you sharing!

More often than not, western blown glass comes out of the ground sparkly clean, just needs to be rinsed off.

I use to dig privy’s in Baltimore back in the 90’s. Found everything from bottles, tobacco pipes, cannon balls, pottery etc etc. Found a portion of a broke historical flask in sapphire blue, an intact one had sold at auction for 76k😮

Hey man, just came here to say I appreciate you and the content you create, to me, you're one of the most sensible guys on KZbin about metal detecting, I've learned so much about the manticore already that I feel like I've used it already😂 which I haven't, it's waiting for me at the post office! Just curious where you're from? I'm on Saskatchewan Canada. We have some rich detecting grounds here from when the Mennonites migrated here from Europe, I'm Mennonites myself, hopefully I can find some of my great grandparents coins or something. I was born in Mexico and moved to Bolivia afterwards and back to Ontario later and moved to Saskatchewan after I married. And found out afterwards my ancestors had lived here and moved to Mexico because of political reasons. Should be interesting detecting . Thanks for all the good info bud.

Thank you so much for the very kind words. I have a sikimlar situation where as an adult I moved up to the California Gold Country near Placerville, CA and this is where my relatives and ancestors all lived a few generations ago. I am very fortunate to live in a area rich in both gold and relics. You will do very well with your new Manticore, congratulations on getting one! Thank you for again for the view and comment!

Lot's of bottle history in the East Bay. I mostly search here in the Gold Country and try to focus in on 1850's era bottles. Some really nice bottles, that I know of... have been found in San Jose and Alum Rock. Thank you for your view and comment!
