Cop said he never seen anybody do that before. Then I had to help unload bc the dock people were gone. The owner wanted me to come back next day to deliver and I told No…. Hi, i drive for Crete on the Walmart team out of north Platte. When I did OTR I've been in those situations I have a couple tips for you to consider. When the guys at the dock say it's easier to blind side, believe them. They do this every day. And they don't want you to hit there stuff. Second back slowly and remember you can slide your tandems to change your pivot and turn radius. And get a second head set so your side kick can spot you and you can have solid communication and eliminate yelling to be heard over daily noise and your spotter can move around for better spotting and you don't lose contact even when they step out of sight. Just a couple of things I have done in the past. Always remember when your tandems are forward you have 12 feet of trailer just swinging ready to whip out whatever is around it. lol....

After they saw this video they called Kevin and told him that no driver should be put in that kind of situation and that they would be making changes. We don’t know what the changes are, but we think it’s another sign how they care for their drivers. And in over two years that was the only time he had a load to NYC with Crete. We think it’s a great, stable company. It’s still trucking, of course, so nothings perfect, but we are very happy here. You can check out their website for details. And let us know if you have any questions we can help with. Who do you drive for now?

You are very lucky that you had the freightliner. With the kenworth would've been more stressful. Radius turn isn't that good. But great job, Kevin. Awesomeness keeping your focus ❤

I drove 359's, 379's, and 389's, still doable.

Went to the same place a few years ago when I was with Crete. 1 time only thank the Lord. Looks like it hasn't changed much. Good job. Did they give you some free bread for your troubles?

😆😆😆Yes!! The bread is in the next video. 😆😆😆

That crashcadia doesn't have powrr mirrors you can rotate them as you back. I ran nyc and long isle for 23 urs with over size. Now have a 354 in wb 156 sleeper . Once in awhile i go out there. Another tip it comes to a t or turn pull straight out the jack it a little at a time you might have to do it multiple times but safer

I see the yellow line to Kevin’s left into the dock, idk why he was overturning way too much when it was there to guide him. Unless I’m seeing something else. One tip another KZbin trucker @AlexNino gives, and I think it actually works, is small movements, not over do it on the steering wheel. Otherwise you end up doing what Kevin was doing. Glad it all worked out, that’s what matters. 👍🏼
@TheJoyofTrucking Жыл бұрын
Thanks! He was trying not to end up too far to the left so he’d be able to make a left turn when leaving. Then it turned out taking a right was a better way to leave. 🤦♀️

@@TheJoyofTrucking ahhh that makes better sense why was doing what he was trying to do. I didn’t see the end game 😅😅

They definitely need to have a smaller truck to deliver to them. You are definitely one great driver. That place should be straight truck delivery only.

I hate how some intersections allow vehicles to park that close to the edge. For this reason. Good job in the turn though. I love watching these tight turn videos. It’s a skill I do great at, but it seems rare because of a lot of new drivers they do not know their truck, clearances, and have no confidence and these are the ones who would have had to do that first turn in my maneuvers haha but you did great. Fun to watch. I’m all for the more difficult, the more challenging the more I love it haha.

Damn! That'll make a man outta ya! Absolutely absurd that a road truck is delivering there. Like Kevin said, a last mile truck, or 4, should be doin this delivery. Ridiculous. Great job, Brother Kevin! That's not easy. As always, y'all, travel safely...👍🏼❤️

Seriously? It wasn't even that bad. It's just because he hadn't been there before. Blindside would have been easier but maybe you can't get there that way.

Tough place,by the time he got the doors open to hit the dock he was probably completely worn out. I remember in Chicago hitting a dock that was offset the wrong way on a narrow one lane street with parked cars and poles near an intersection.
