13:25 That bus driver was hopefully CRIMINALLY CHARGED. That was absolutely ridiculous to stop on the tracks.

Imagine being so concerned about damaging the boom gate he'd rather damage the Coach and Locomotive. The boom Gate arm will just turn anyway. Well the ones for the Tram I drove did and you could spin them back

7:15 - there is a STOP sign there and a crossing sign, so there's probably no light indicator. That means the drivers of road vehicles should stop and look if there's a train coming or not, which the truck driver didn't do.

This happened on October 16, 2007, around 12:20 AM, a car got suck on the tracks at a private crossing in Greer, SC. The woman driving that car got out of the car thanks to the help of the Greer Police. Sadly, the woman started crying after the Amtrak train hit the car. Plus, Amtrak had to cancel the train when that accident happened. Thankfully, no one was hurt.

In Gothenburg, Sweden, a train collision occurred around 7:30 AM on March 8, 2020. A public bus got stuck on the tracks! The filmer was waiting for that bus. There were probably no injuries.

Conductors do *not* drive trains: Engineers drive trains. A conductor is in charge of a train's operation and often attends the needs of passengers, but he is not the driver.
@samschaeffer82369 ай бұрын
Why does the narrator keep referring to the operator of a train as a "conductor"? The operator is the ENGINEER. The conductor manages the train. At 7:22 the map shows Traverse City, but the incident happened at Detroit. At 11:58 the map shows Sycamore Georgia. But then, we see footage that looks like it's from Switzerland with its spectacular mountain scenery. It might help to audition your material before you show all your mistakes to the world.

America refers to them as engineers; we refer to them as train-drivers. The word engineer can refer to many things but train-driver speaks for itself and leaves no doubt as to what the guy does for a living. However, you are correct in pointing out the difference between the guy at the front of the train and the one usually at the back but only with regard to English. For example, a train driver in French is _conducteur de train_ so if the person making the video has French roots and English isn't their first language, they may refer to the driver as a conductor. Think about it for a moment; the guy leading an orchestra is called a conductor. It's not too big a step to conclude that the guy "leading" the train is a conductor too, especially if English isn't your main language. Languages can be complex, especially when it comes to translation. Not everyone uses English as a first language. As an Englishman I could pick holes in the way America "abuses" the English language - but you're over there and not on my turf so I don't really care; but if you come here with your Americanisms, be damned sure I'll correct you. 😛

Simple solution; do what we do in the vast majority of situations here in Britain. We build bridges over the tracks. I live in a city with a quarter of a million population and it's on the main line from London to Birmingham. Not a single level crossing here. Many main roads cross the lines, but all do so by means of a bridge.
@Thinker2-truth9 ай бұрын
@@johnanthony6092 Agreed! But you call them "level crossings". Here in the States, the crossings are anything but "level". The crossings trucks get stuck on are all "MOUNDS" with a sharp pitch at the top! Designed to catch anything with little ground clearance. Like a turtle on a rock.
