I have never owned an Eterna but always wanted the older Kon Tiki model with the orange triangles at the 12, 3, 6 and 9 with a black dial.

The vintage royal kontiki’s are extremely hard to find info on but are gorgeous. This is quite nice though, has a zenith/indie watch maker feel

I own the Gold PVD version on of my Favs. So true about it being up there with Omega. Eterna defiantly don't get enough attention.

Thank you for the unboxing and review. I agree with you that Eterna has under gone some major changes within the last 10 or more years. I also hope that they can get back to using more of their in house manufacture. btw I qwn the Eterna Vaughan Big Date with the Eterna caliber 3030. it's a very nice dress watch designed to compete with the Jaeger LeCoultre Master Control.

Been eyeing this watch up recently, so happy to find you've already done a video on it. It looks great, however I haven't seen any as cheap as that. 650 is an outstanding price!

I’ve been watching your eterna videos. Where do you purchase it from with those prices? I mean it’s a no brainer if that were the price. Even in the bay, prices are high.

Hey, thanks for watching. I set up alerts on eBay and bid on tons of different eterna watches. I usually set a price and I forget it. I've owned probably in the neighborhood of six or seven eterna All won on eBay for very good prices. Thanks again Chris

Is this a DLC coating or PVD coating ? The two coatings are very different in terms of hardness and price.

Excellent review, I never gave much thought to Eterna but after watching this I am seriously considering one! I will let the idea marinate for a couple of months, but I am almost set on the Adventic GMT.

Eterna is only known in Germany, Austria or Switzerland. Those watches are always displayed off the main windows and are often overseen especially because they are displayed together with Tissot, Victorinox and other middle class brands. I am surprised you say it is a luxury brand, well the brand must be dead as I have never seen enyone wearing it, although I saw some interesting pieces. There are excellent brands out there and are cheap for what they offer (Armand Nicolet, Jean Richard, Perrelet...), but are unknown, maybe no marketing, no publicity and people buy what they know, or see or is expensive :-))

Eterna used to be a great brand not sure about this one .....don't like the black finish.I have a mid 70s eternamatic 2002 which is one of my favourite watches (I bought it for £90 UK NOS in 1990) I think eterna have lost their way a bit,back in the 70s/80s they would have been considered equal to omega.

@abgvedr Жыл бұрын
Cool watch indeed. 8grand cool? Not sure about that.
@otobotrecords4 жыл бұрын
Too bad they didn't go for a true GMT movement with independent hour hand when they developed this in-house caliber. It surely was not worth the MSRP it was going for - independent of the endeavors that went into finishing. At that MSRP you just don't create a sub-par GMT movement that cannot deliver more than a run-of-the-mill ETA. At the price you got it for it cannot be faulted, if you like the design.

Lume is the wrong sort of corner to be cutting for a brand that thinks it's a "Luxury" brand, Inexcusable! Although I want a few of them. And it's E-T-A, not "Etta", ditz.

What, 650 $? Isn’t Eterna owned by an Indian watch company nowadays? The glory long gone.

Shame that these watches are so overpriced for what they are, $2000 to $3000+ watches based on Sellita movements. Eterna, a swiss origin company bought by a Chinese company (citychamp group, EBOHR watches) and managed by a guy who used to work with Daniel Wellington watches). Clearly trying to used the history of the brand to overpriced and market generic watches with parts sourced in Asia and assembled in Switzerland.... A shame as they are good watches just 3 times more expensive than what they should be sold out.
@WatchChris4 жыл бұрын
Hey John this watch is from the mid 2000s prior to citychamp buying eterna in 2011 and is all in house not based on a selita. Citychamp also own Corum. Eterna also make selita and ETA based watches but they are much less expensive in the 2000 range. This was eterna's last attempt to go up market...
