Quick tip; When cutting poly, you can turn your saw blade backwards to reduce the risk of breaking the plastic.

Exactly right. I used a fine tooth finish cut blade backwards and it was fantastic. No burr, chipping or cracking. Clamp each side down while leaving room to cut. One thing though, wear ear protection!!! Cutting like that creates a deafening high pitched squeal that will kill your hearing for days.

What a gorgeous and smart design, relying on gravity/design for water-proofing rather than “caulk the hell out of every join and have it look terrible and crack after a few years of exposure, and need to be re-caulked.” Also very nice of you to share the design….respect.

I did it Johnny. I built the beveled model . It took quite a bit of focus and I was forced to throw away more than one crooked 2 x But…. It came out quite nice and everyone loves it. We still have not completed the entry but I’m working with my own ideas on that one.

I've been building and working in construction since the 90s and I am in awe of your zone structures, but... I still can't wrap my head around how many of the same exact panel somehow create a sphere. Lol. I would love to help you build one sometime to learn from the master. You should change settings on your camera to adapt to whatever electrical frequency you have (50 or 60Hz). This should reduce lights flickering. Or change lights type :D

would love to see a zome build that is constructed from conduit, modular makerpipe fittings and just basic 25'x25' tarps, two tone or a transparent tarp for light. this is the way I've been thinking. or an actual custom made tent.

You are a highly skilled carpenter, awesome work! Question: Why not paint / seal the wood before setup of the structure? I live in AZ, the sun would destroy the wood in a few seasons without paint.

This wood does have s deck sealer on it that blocks UV! But you can adjust the finish based on your needs!

Very Nice ! Did I heard Grenada ? Caribbean ? So you'll be sailing around Guadeloupe where I live ! There are a few Zomes here (plywood or copper tubes) and a good friend is about to build 2 Geo Domes for his Bees... I've build some Zomes too, a 6 faces thick cardboard playground for my daughter (around 6 feet high) and some other small scale ones. (cast résin, etc.) Waiting for the moment I'll buid a "real" one ! You're doing a excellent job, Congrats !

I just stumbled on your site... I think you're on to something... I'd encourage to continue doing your land stuff, the sea can be even harder and she's also very very fickle, she can look all nice and inviting and then WHAM! Freckin storm breaks half of everything.... Now if you do live aboard somewhere, you gotta think diving, or maybe sea weed farming.,,and for that, You gotta do that in SEA... but again, not easy coz the culture is very different.
