I just wanted to say this but.. Its not Miku’s fault that she’s popular.. Its just that many people like her. Its their choice to like Miku, is it bc of her design? Voice bank? Who knows. With Miku being popular, the producers can finally be noticed for their hard work. Miku didn’t made herself popular, people did make them popular. A lot of people found vocaloid through Miku so we should be thankful that we still have the Vocaloid community growing. Of course I love the other vocaloids. A lot of factors accumulated and made Miku the "face of Vocaloid"/"Poster Girl for Vocaloid". And we can't control popularity. It also doesn't help that Crypton advertised the crap out of Miku and kind of let the other voicebanks fall flat. And I agree with everything else you said ^^

Alot of the songs that got traction on nico from being up early and thus becoming 'classics' didn't ever make it to youtube by their original contributors, only from re-uploads, some which received alot of views, others the channels were later deleted and such, but since there were alot of re-uploads for popular songs, views would be split between cloned videos. More recently Japanese producers matriculated to KZbin, and we have western producers who've made it a bit big, of course on KZbin, since for a long time nico nico was in Japanese only for the interface. Now it has an English interface, but it's almost unnecessary to go to nico nico to get Vocaloid since you can watch stuff posted from current producers directly on here... I think that's part of why they're so different but it'd be super cool to see the breakdown.

@@INANNAISHERE Really :0? I played Touhou 6 and cirno's theme sounded a lot like Kasane Territory so I just assumed
@INANNAISHERE4 жыл бұрын
@@Platonic I get it. They sound very similar come to think of it. The both have a similar melody and a child like atmosphere. Give it a listen if you don’t believe me. The music video for kasane territory is also based on a niconico douga meme over of the song native faith

(I'm actually surprised that Senbonzakura never quite hit the top spot!) I think it was something like early September 2007 that I read a blog news article talking about a new voice synthesis software package. One of those, "Could this be the future? We'll see," sort of things. It linked to three demo songs on youtube. A search showed something like a dozen distinct videos and some duplicates. I kept an eye out for new ones. I had no idea at the time that I was getting in on the ground floor of something that was going to go big and that I'd still be listening to thirteen years later!

I think Senbonzakura fully deserves its possition. Its a great song, and even though its lyrics are dark, its incredibly catchy and the instrumental is also beautiful.

to think that the 2010’s (precisely the span between 2011 to 2017) were so remarkable to the VOCALOID world that they are still to this day on the top of the charts, giving us songs like Matryoshka (actually HACHI was the best... Kenshi is still awesome tho), Senbonzakura, Mozaik Role- I dunno, this gives me the nostalgia. I was so happy back then and didn’t even know that..... ;(( (also, thanks for the video, this is SO WELL DONE, we can ser how much effort you put in this and we are so thankful!! 🥺💕)

Entonces si tomamos en cuenta la poularidad de canciones y nos vamos solo por quienes le dieron la voz, podríamos decir que la idol mas popular es Miku, le sigue Gumi y la tercera es Luka Me emociona saber que pasará en unos 10 años.

This video was better back in 2020 than now in 2022. When you hear music without vocals, that means that the original vocaloid song has been muted for copyright reasons, and has been replaced with boring copyright-free instrumental music from KZbin's free music library. This video had all glorious vocaloid vocals throughout back in 2020, (and in most of 2021 as well?), but sadly no longer.

Around 2007 I joined Nico Nico Douga for Miku songs (I still have my account from that time - with vocaloid songs from 2008 in my "mylist"). There was even a time when NND had a German translation before an English one I remember, ... Good times. I was so young and had all the time in the world to explore weird parts on the net. And the net was still plenty weird back than.

If anyone was wondering what that song during the beginning was (the one that was titled “я люблю”) I speak rudimentary Ukrainian, though it could be Russian the languages are quite similar especially in more common words that it shouldn’t be much of an issue. To my knowledge it says “I like” or “I love” but я can mean “I am” so it’s hard to pinpoint an exact translation. Anyway who may be fluent in either language, please comment what you think
