This is basic logic, from someone who has only operated forklifts a handful of times. But my logic is, inside the ROPS is the safest place you can be since that same canopy can definitely hurt if you're jumping out. The IDEAL course, is to simply not use the machine wrong and prevent the incident. But staying in the seat is the better choice. Heavy equipment it's the same, but on a substantially heavier level. When machines weigh 10k lb, they're scary if they tip. When it's 100k, it can be devastating.

9:08 Body type have nothing to do with this scenario. That's a weird observation. That guy is larger than the guy who taught me forklifts, and smaller than the person who taught me to use a "power jack". "Power jacks" are used for precise loading operations, like say, a trailer that it stuffed with full pallets. Notice the ramp: Can't get an angle on the pallet, on a ramp. Try and drive one in, you'd break the pallet. Pushing the pallet in with it is not ideal, but does the job. The guy wasn't paying attention to his tool and work area.

The first one is weird, because all forklifts I work on have seat sensor, which engages brakes when not pressed (even gasoline ones). Only when forklift is off brakes are loose. 2'nd video - deffinetly not a mistake, because tilt lever was pushed for too long time for it to be "by mistake". 3'rd - communication issue between workers. But still forklifts should have plate with weight limits above some height. The first forklift (biggest one) didn't see what is going up higher, thats why it was a bad attempt. 4'th - communication issue again (OSHA doesnt apply here) 5'th - why the heck did he try to unload middle pallet, when He could get the last one easier? Why did He jump out, when inside forklift (with seatbelts on - OSHA requirements)? Truck driver is morre guilty than forklift, but still?!? 6'th - not a forklift failure 7'th - casual truck driver unexperienced with battery powered forklift, but with no experience. Sorry but you are incorrect on the last video. That is a every day normal forklift move to move pallets. It doesn't matter if it's in the trailer or wherever you are moving it. Most electronic palletjacks are just longer then a pallet so to avoid damage to the next pallet of shelf you have to put it down and push it the rest of the way. Now when you are loading trailers every inch counts especially with bulky freight that goes beyond the pallet. So it is normal to ram the pallet in to get all the space used and not wasted. Great video though some of the videos i haven't seen yet.
