2:25 forklifts don't randomly turn off. It tends to happen when hitting max height. Also it was fully intentional to drop the shed. You don't lift something up far away from where it needs to go unless you want OSHA breathing down your neck.

@@skeeterfan3626 I was taught that the likeliest result of trying to jump clear of a tipping forklift was death, but I am in a jurisdiction where workplace safety violations can lead to criminal penalties, so management cares about worker safety, if only to keep their sorry asses out of prison, and puts a lot of effort into encouraging workers to minimize risk taking (I saw a guy fired for refusing to wear all of the required PPE).

This is basic logic, from someone who has only operated forklifts a handful of times. But my logic is, inside the ROPS is the safest place you can be since that same canopy can definitely hurt if you're jumping out. The IDEAL course, is to simply not use the machine wrong and prevent the incident. But staying in the seat is the better choice. Heavy equipment it's the same, but on a substantially heavier level. When machines weigh 10k lb, they're scary if they tip. When it's 100k, it can be devastating.

I drove steep downhill forks first and the big metal dumpster on wheels fell off and speed up downhill towards open hall doors, but luckily it fell on its side before hurting any1. I also tried to impress a lady at work by working fast and drove the forks thru some huge package probably an ikea shelf or something the pqckage didnt stand anymore and with 2 fork penetrarions i "hid" the mess in back corner of the logistic complex. I have other accidents aswell.. my new trade is trucking and ive had some accidents too like driving into forest and so on.

Watching number 3, that is exactly why my warehouse has a policy, where if a HGV driver is staying attached to a trailer during a load/unload, they must surrender their truck keys to the forklift operator, who will keep it on a hook just inside the door. They get the keys back when the operation is complete. That eliminates the risk of an accident like that happening.

At 3:05, you are supposed to run with your load as close to the ground as practical, until you get as close to the object that you are stacking the load upon, as possible. The driver had raised the shed so that he could look under it, as he drove forward, he really needed a spotter to guide the forklift to where it needed to be. At 7:32, any bets that the truck driver went to the wrong truck and pulled out without doing a circle check?

9:08 Body type have nothing to do with this scenario. That's a weird observation. That guy is larger than the guy who taught me forklifts, and smaller than the person who taught me to use a "power jack". "Power jacks" are used for precise loading operations, like say, a trailer that it stuffed with full pallets. Notice the ramp: Can't get an angle on the pallet, on a ramp. Try and drive one in, you'd break the pallet. Pushing the pallet in with it is not ideal, but does the job. The guy wasn't paying attention to his tool and work area.

The first one is weird, because all forklifts I work on have seat sensor, which engages brakes when not pressed (even gasoline ones). Only when forklift is off brakes are loose. 2'nd video - deffinetly not a mistake, because tilt lever was pushed for too long time for it to be "by mistake". 3'rd - communication issue between workers. But still forklifts should have plate with weight limits above some height. The first forklift (biggest one) didn't see what is going up higher, thats why it was a bad attempt. 4'th - communication issue again (OSHA doesnt apply here) 5'th - why the heck did he try to unload middle pallet, when He could get the last one easier? Why did He jump out, when inside forklift (with seatbelts on - OSHA requirements)? Truck driver is morre guilty than forklift, but still?!? 6'th - not a forklift failure 7'th - casual truck driver unexperienced with battery powered forklift, but with no experience. You'll see lots of them when working in warehouses.

Sorry but you are incorrect on the last video. That is a every day normal forklift move to move pallets. It doesn't matter if it's in the trailer or wherever you are moving it. Most electronic palletjacks are just longer then a pallet so to avoid damage to the next pallet of shelf you have to put it down and push it the rest of the way. Now when you are loading trailers every inch counts especially with bulky freight that goes beyond the pallet. So it is normal to ram the pallet in to get all the space used and not wasted. Great video though some of the videos i haven't seen yet.

Of course they’re narrator. Don’t know what they’re talking about. The last clip you can’t get underneath the pallet. Not a small side. The forks don’t go underneath so pushing it is the only option he was just doing it too hard.

The second one looks as though they were intentionally trying to dismantle that shed by dropping it from so high

I thought it was a two-hole outhouse till I saw the bottom up flip. Easy to bust up a shed.

In the video where the larger forklift is lifting the smaller, right before they lose the load, you can see where the left fork catches the building, sticks, then pops free, causing the drop. As a professional mechanic with 4 decades of experience, I've seen far too many problems occur, in which I'm left wondering WTF they were thinking.
