When I was in high school there was a guy who had a death note. This was back in 2000. Dunno where he got the idea but it freaked us all out. He would stab himself in the leg while he wrote it. Not to mention I was also on the list... When I asked him why Iwas in the list, he said he needed a family member on the list. When I asked my mom if we were related she said we were like 3rd cousins. Sooo I moved to another State after graduation. Lol

Grimoires are extremely personal to us but most of us don't put a curse if someone is to read we rather put a charm or sigil to prevent people from reading unless we give permission. Our Grimoire or Book of shadows though there is differences is a personal magical diary we try to hide from most to avoid being judged for the path we have chosen. Most modern Grimoires are extremely beautiful and unique so if you ever do have the chance to read one it's very special and unique. We aren't all that scary like most people depict us and we really have a passion for our work. Much love to all you at most Amazing

Great you added the Necronomicon but need to get your facts straight. The five tales in the Necronomicon Pop Up book are NOT part of the Evil Dead series. The Evil Dead movies and tv show spinoff borrowed the Necronomicon from the tales of the Cthulhu Mythos by H.P. Lovecraft and his circle of writers. Look up Cthulhu Mythos on Wikipedia. In the Mythos, there are several cursed arcane writings like the play "The King in Yellow". Nameless Cults, De Vermis Mysteriis, and The Revelations of Glaaki, amongst others! Here is a link... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Books_in_the_Cthulhu_Mythos

@@GamingMasterAnthony No. The Necronomicon is a fictional book that only exists in Lovecraft's fictional universe. Necronomicon is a fictional book created by H.P. Lovecraft.
@eugenekrabs74125 жыл бұрын
Based on the original works of the mad Arab after wandering in the desert and supposedly being viseted by satin himself. Lovecraft based it off of this. There are supposedly 4 copies in existence one in the harvord archives one in Oxford and two others. Not sure where the others are but Lovecraft didn't come up with it. If he did there was still a book called the necronomicon that was demonic before he came up with it

Great list! Hope you can scare up another ten of these. The first group of books was a great one too. Having read the Necronomicon (not the pop-up version or one inspired by the Evil Dead franchise), I actually found it a fascinating book, but I do love scary things, so, go fig on that one. For horror novels, you can't get much better than King. The scariest book I've ever read? Hands down one called Candlemass Eve. Not for its content though, but for how horrifically BADLY written it was! For a good scare I really loved William W. Johnstone's early work - Rockinghorse, The Devil's Cat, Cat's Cradle....after Baby Grand they got a bit too...preachy for my tastes). Would love to see you tackle cursed movies and TV shows too! Those would be fascinating! Cheers and keep up the great lists!

House of Leaves. While I have read many Stephen King books and found them good reads but never gave me the chills people described, I must say that if I found House of Leaves scary, it really IS scary. Mark Z. Danielewski involves you in the story so deeply, with secret codes and visual cues that you certainly feel in a labyrinth or maybe stuck in a tiny room at times. Or lost in a sea of words that makes no sense but yet are terrifying. A must read for any fan of the spooky.

The Necromonicon isn't really that cursed. kinda of a beginner guide to the dark occult tbh
@markkettlewell74413 жыл бұрын
The Necronomicon isn’t even a real book. It was an invention of HP Lovecraft and used by his circle of writers to promote the stories of the Great Old Ones. Anybody who believes this text to be real is a fool and would earn the scorn of Lovecraft himself and his friends. It doesn’t exist, never existed. It is simply a fictional trope 🥱
