In our culture it's a wide and well practiced belief to not take items from places from which they belong. Been told by my great-grandmother to not touch things that didn't belong to me or break things (tree branches etc) because that's not my mob/place. I have an attic full of creepy items from the early 1900s. One box contains an original raggedy Andy Doll and whats horrifying about it is that the doll has a small burlap bag placed over it's head. Also in this box is a doll of Raggedy Andy's nanny Beloved Belindy, smiling out at whoever opens the box. Another box contains a 3 foot tall porcelain doll of a fancy dressed man. The doll is placed in this box lovingly, but it's face is shattered. I stopped exploring my attic after opening a trunk and finding a bloody quilt that smells like death. My house is quite haunted.
