I also look up women who were executed and there was 16 since 1976. Out of the 16 women , 12 were white and 4 were black, that was also online. Universal Beckham There's murder, and then there's defense. Guilty life is not quite the same as innocent life, as the initial murderer violated--therefore rejected--the sanctity of human life. There is also a difference between a government and an individual. A government has a duty to protect its citizens, and it is not quite possible to do that without eliminating threats such as murderers. The reason why Christians can choose their stance on the death penalty so freely is because the main issue is necessity (as in, "What is needed to keep murderers from harming the innocent, and what means are within the realm of possibility to do this?")

I believe in the death penalty. However, if there is any doubt, and not 100% proof of guilt, then they should receive life in prison without the possibility of parole. With technology advancing at the rate it is, it's always possible the suspect could be proven innocent, years later, of the crime.

“I feel it” such a generic statement- anyone ever had an IV started for a procedure? It feels COLD because the IV fluids are at room temperature whilst the body temp is 98.6 give or take a degree- sheesh.

Propofol is what is used in anaesthetics ... it burns some people while others just feel a cold sensation. I am not 100% sure what they use for execution these days ... I believe they used to use propofol until the manufacturers refused to supply it. I have heard there is a combination of drugs .. a sedative, a muscle relaxant and potassium chloride. The sedative used to be propofol ... then they went to Midazolam but it wasn't as effective ... not sure what they use now. I am an anaesthetic nurse ... that is how I know about these drugs.

I do agree with the death penalty, but only for psychologically insane and brutal killers. Not for someone who was there at the time with the person. After all you can't control what someone else is thinking or are about to do. To do so is a crime it self. Everyone demands loyalty. Sometimes the bystander is I'm fear for their own life or the life of their families, so they don't say anything. I'm sure if they are sane they want to. But just can't take the chance.

There is a defense for guilty by association! It's called being a good person and not being in that situation, doing WHATEVER it takes to avoid that situation in the first place or its doing the right thing and calling the Cop's very first chance you get, if it is after the fact! If you are with someone and they pull a robbery and kill someone and you had no fore-knowledge of it; even if they threaten you not to tell anyone - your only defense is calling the Cop's!

I was given potassium chloride by IV to treat a dangerously low serum potassium level. The problem was that the pharmacy dispensed a lethally concentrated solution. I was able to pull the line out before enough of the solution got in to kill me. You have no idea how painful it is when that kind of solution enters the veins! If the person is aware enough to feel it as they die it is a terrible way to go.

They are asleep before that injection is given. They first receive a strong sedative in the IV that puts them to sleep. They are unconscious before the next two drugs are given that stop the breathing, then stop the heart.
