Since you mentioned The diary of a young girl, I am amazed as to how my classmates despise it to be as our course novel and wish it were never there. Some of them even claim it to be an adult book asserting her deep dark erotic secrets are embedded in it and the diary has been only harmed by such gross publicity when it should have been looked upon as a private substance. In fact conservatism surpasses all its limits when teacher refuses to discuss this girl’s love interests calling such discussions futile. I can’t say about people’s insensitivities of trivialising the motto of her work to such an extent. Many say well so what she survived, many others don’t get the same recognition she receives by virtue of the fruity details of her love life and family tussles she added to the diary. What’s remarkable about this creation is her optimism to persistently acknowledge other people’s sufferings facing the cruel Nazis out of this shielded secret annexe and succumbing to her other vulnerabilities beautifully. She was a quintessential of how every Jew facing the predicament at that moment should have sought refuge in other positive entities present in his/her life. That’s why she stood out.

I didn't like the diary of a young girl.... It was only her point of views 😂 I mean I don't know actually the fact is I like rea ding from my heart and it was a rapid reader in our 10th standard.... there were exams and teachers explained it with no emotions and Just ruined it... we had to mug the texture of the annex and shits like that... I think that's why I got irritated by it... Ill give it a reread not as an exam scoring shit but as a book.... I think I'm gonna like it😊❤️

I'm watching this video in 2020 after SSR's death . One by one when she was telling the names of the book I thought I willl try to read all the books she will suggest but the Time she said Karan Johar's book......I was literally like'oh shit I can't read all the books she is going suggest' because after Sushant's death I don't even feel to hear name of Karan Johar ......rather than the video was amazing.....and I was,I am ,I will be a huge fan of yours praju di🙂

Read Alchemist. This book is super awesome. Though it is fiction but very few know it has science and a quote "if you want something from your true heart then whole universe conspires you to get that thing" story is really inspiring. I bet when you finish this book you will be the different person.

My top 7 would be 1.malgudi days - R. K. Narayan2. To kill a mockingbird-, Harper Lee, 3. The help - Kathryn Stockett 4.the kite runner - Khalid Husseini 5.pride and prejudice - Jane Austen 6. Unaccustomed Earth - Jhumpa Lahiri 7. A family matter - Rohinton Mistry I like books that are simple in narrative yet bring in the cultural references and local flavour. I am a crazy fan of shri. Pu. La. Deshpande too.. I must have read Batatyachi Chaal, Nasti Uthathev and Hasavnuk about a 50 times each and I crack up every single time.. This is despite of me being a Kannadiga..other great works are Baluta by Mr. Daya Pawar and Tumbadche Khot by Shri. Na. Pendse. In hindi, it's Gulzaar Saahab 's Raavi Paar and in translated works, The Inner Courtyard edited by Lakshmi Holmstrom and Manto' s stories, also Ismat Chugtai was so ahead of her times.. Her writing is thought provoking, bordering dark side of our lives but brilliant. There are many more I must have read but this is all I could think of instantly.

You should definitely read 'The screaming staircase' by 'Johnathan Stroud'. I picked it up from The Delhi book Fair and since the horror buff I am, I expected it to be scary. It turned out to be pretty humourous and scary at the same time. You should definately read it Prajakta!
