I may be talking complete bollocks but my mate had a early RS escort like this back in the 80s did any of them have some sort of belt on the prop shaft that did the ABS or something like that I’m sure I saw something like that a ribbed belt coming off the drive shafts ?
@AaronUnknownPerformance5 жыл бұрын
Nope your absolutely right mate! The S2 abs had belts on the driveshafts was a dreadfull design 🤣

"Bucket seat" brilliant, getting your money's worth from that iron out too. Agree that a track car can still look good even if it is a track car, just not to a show car level of course.
@AaronUnknownPerformance5 жыл бұрын
That iron out is working hard! From all the fab work. Yeah i hate untidy and tatty track cars its just lazy imo

This is in proper good nick! That white is going to come up mint when you Clay bar and wax it. Glad you changing the spoiler to 90 spec. Their a lot more interesting to look at. I had a 90 spec a few years ago, it was tuned by power+ back in the day, for whoever remembers them. I stripped out all the abs out. The abs was shocking on the models that had it. Welded up all the rust and painted all underneath and arch’s. I spent many months fixing all its flaws. Just fitted a new clutch and some barstards nicked it! Being sorn because I was working on it ment no pay out. It was recovered but was ragged so bad I just couldn’t deal with starting a rebuild again. I ended up selling it to recover costs from it being recovered and stored at a compound. I did enjoy the car for a little while before taking it off road for a rebuild. It was one hell of a fun car to drive!

Modern fords are all boring! Mk1 focus Rs was the last of them. Thanks man
@cba3605 жыл бұрын
Aaron Unknown yeah I can agree with that completely, the new cars are nice but nothing like the old days. Mind I was never a fan of the interior of the mk1 rs as it reminded me of the crap aisle at Halfords but nowadays it’s grown on me. Trying to get my mate to sell me his before it rusts away or appreciates to silly money 😂

The side skirts are not just double sided tape’d on you should have a plastic trim pop riveted to the sill that the side skirt clips on to That stops it from sagging
@AaronUnknownPerformance5 жыл бұрын
Yeah they disappeared a long time ago when it was last resprayed unfortunately. The sills have now been bonded on
