People complain about Fred and Mctominay but i feel just like everyone one else the team has improved. Mcfred are a year more experienced than they were last year and both gained further experience at the summer tournaments although on different scales. My point is, they are improving too, just watch them this season.

For certain matches McFred are exactly what we need, they protect the back 4 covering the space the fullbacks leave when they push forward, its the reason Shaws been so effective, he can stay further forward knowing Fred can move into that area if needed, plus they allow the likes of Bruno and Pogba to thrive going forward. I do think we need a CDM, mainly because Matic is our only natural player there and he cant play forever but the hatred from some fans of those 2 players is unwarranted at times.

I think what we're seeing here is a group of talented players who have played with each other long enough to have a really good understanding of each other. Lindelof knew Bruno would want to make that run. Pogba knew Bruno would be ready for that one touch pass, and knew Greenwood could make that run. I think we're in for a really fun season :)

If Varane is the same defender in Madrid's UCL-winning teams, then he's the only signing that significantly improves the team's first eleven.
