Motel Owner Refuses Black Man. Then This Happens

Kevin Braun has been running the Stargazer Motel in Mango Park for quite a while. In recent years, Mr. Braun has been suspected of violating the fair housing act. Now, with the help of Mango Park Police Sgt. Garrett, a plan is formed to finally bring this awful motel owner to justice. Sgt. Garrett goes undercover and poses as a regular customer, and once Mr. Braun takes the bait, he seals his fate.

Despite our skin color, race or nationally, we are all human and deserve to be treated with respect and kindness. Word eventually got out about Mr. Braun’s unfair practices in his motel business, and nobody ever set foot in there again and it eventually shut down. By the time he was booked and brought to court, Mr. Braun was found guilty of racism related housing issues and fined a total of $7,000. Of course, the entitled Mr. Braun refused to pay the fine and was ultimately sentenced to 10 years behind bars.

Surprisingly, many people who discriminate forget one major factor. When blood is stored in clinics, hospitals, etc., it is not stored by race. It is stored by type. At 86 I have received nearly 100 transfusions and I don't know where any of them came from. BUT, as I've also said before, "It doesn't matter where it came from. They give me my type and it saved my life. I am so grateful for the person who donated. Wish I could thank them personally."

Kind of reminds me of that off duty cop that went to a restaurant and was refused service. The attendant stated we don't serve people like you. He was shocked and walked out. The next day he came back in uniform and they were shocked and very helpful.

My add on: The motel owner was found guilty and sentenced to prison for five years. During his time in prison, he received a notice that the location of the motel was repurchased by new ownership, due to a lack of customers after his behavior was exposed on all platforms of social media. Because of this, he became jobless and homeless upon being released from prison.

Actually, when the Motel owner got to court, the judge threw out the case as motels are exempt from the Fair Housing Act. Doesn't change the fact that the owner is still a racist a-hole.

I know that some might think this "My add-on" is a game and they think it's funny, but racism is not funny at all. Stuff like this happens in real life. I am glad that Soul Snack brings this to light and shows us what can happen. If the building's manager does end up going to jail and has to go to court, we all would love for the judge to find the culprit guilty. I know that blocking people is also rude, but if we wanted to see what happens after, Soul Snack will make that decision if they want to extend the video to include what happens next. But also what we as voters need to do is to remember who we have in office. The politicians that we had in office for decades has a bad habit of knowing that racism is stupid. If we the voters want to stop racism, we need to remember the people from BOTH parties that support it and vote them out.

I work at a hotel and I have several thoughts. Even if you're sold out, people who made reservations are guaranteed a room that day. Only walk ins are out of luck. Also, you don't say "It is what it is" if you're really sold out to a potential guest. That's incredibly unprofessional. You NEVER judge someone because of how they look. Some of the most "professional" looking people can be the worst guests. Also, the actor who played the hotel owner is hilarious.

Although this was staged it actually something that goes on everyday for real. I remember applying for this house a few years back thru my realtor and was approved. When the leasing agency found out I was black they said I wasn't approved anymore. Even though I have a good job, no criminal history and good credit. My realtor was livid. Everyone said I should sued for discrimination. I just went on and found another house with the same realtor. I know the Agency will eventually get what's coming to them.
