Our family used to have a cat and a dog (a poodle). Our cat had kittens and I remember the dog and cat taking turns keeping the kittens warm. When the cat needed to be let out, our dog used to curl up with the kittens to keep them warm until mama came back. It was such a sweet relationship between them.

It is adorable but my 80 pound tall and proud pitbull Clyde did the same thing with my neighbor’s kitten litter. He also shared his food with a feral cat he adopted. Let’s have a shoutout for pitties!

I love that this actually sets Nana's mind at ease when she needs a break from the kittens. She knows she can leave them with Toby and he will make sure they are safe and sound while she tends to her needs

Nana is one of the most beautiful cats I've ever seen. What is even more beautiful is the instinct of Toby to immediately fall in love with her kittens and want to protect them. What a great dog and Nana obviously appreciates his care.

Ohhh that reminds me of my 4yr old Golden Retriever who fell headover heals in love with our 5 week old ginger queen who was so tiny she'd get lost in the big, gentle dog's thick fur. They were inseprable for almost 4 years until we lost our beautiful goldie so suddenly - she had cancer that no one suspected until she was dying 😭😭! Her little ginger shadow was inconsolable and wouldn't eat for 3 days!
