Momma cow gives birth out in the field then runs a four minute mile back to the barn to stay with her clave. That is a good Momma.

When I moved some of my father's tools, I found some grease zerks in a bag. I remember when car companies started to sell greaseless parts, my dad didn't buy the idea that you didn't need to grease them. So he would replase the plug with a zerk. Cole you remind me of my oldest son. He can do most anything and has a real even tempur. I like watching you and your dad work together.

We had an 80 acre pasture where all the cows went to calf. As kids, my brother and I had the job of locating the new calves, and bringing them back to the barn. Many got to ride on the motorcycle back to the barn.

Well now, that calf carry was "vericose" to great but "not far" from perfection. 🤣😂 You guys and that board....🙃 Im sending this video to the hubby and getting him to weld us up a calf carrier bracket for the 4 wheeler. Genius. I had seen a guy on TikTok with one similar so I guess seeing it in action here? Yup. Gotta have one. Who knows! Maybe with all my "free time" (yeah, insert hysterical laughter here) I'll crochet some little calf jackets with hoods so they stay warm for the calf-carry ride. Hopefully the barn will be "vericose." LOL!

Great episode! That calve carrier looks handy as all get out! Replacing grease zerk's is something most people don't understand, take it from someone that owned a 56 Chevy pickup in the early 80's with kingpins. I didn't recognize that song of the day by title till I looked it up, I used to always like hearing that song on the radio, music was just better back then.

As a former agricultural mechanic, I also dealt with stubborn grease zerks. I used a special tool designed for blocked zerks. You filled the tool with oil, placed it on the zerk, and hit it with a hammer, forcing the oil into the zerk at very high pressure. It worked well on straight zerks, but not so much on angle zerks. It was great for those zerks that could not be easily accessed.

Cole, Mr. Ben Franklin said "experience keeps a dear school". I have learned the hard way it is better to remove stumps using the corner of the bucket instead of the center which is less supported & more likely to deflect or break in really cold weather. Really enjoy how well you & Brian care for the cattle. You give people a good impression of farmers, a good one!
