+Samuel Flores The only issue with that is that Lucina or Morgan would be just as unsuitable as Validar himself was, and all of his ancestors and family before him. Robin was the result of *CENTURIES* of selective breeding, all of that effort would be undone if Robin got killed and the Grimleal would pretty much be back to square one again. They'd have to go through even more centuries of effort and work to even stand a remote chance of having an opportunity like Robin again. The Shepards' only issue with Robin gone would be coming up with tactics, in the long-run they'd be better off than Validar and the Grimleal would be, since Robin getting killed would pretty much completely derail all of Validar's planning.

I love how if Robin is her mother (I think it also works as her husband), she actually lowers her sword and refuses to strike a blow. It's much better than Chrom just yelling "LOWER YOUR SWORD YOUNG LADY" and her hesitating. I may have mixed feelings about the Chrom/Robin pairing, but I really like it for story reasons like this. And Robin as Lucina's mom just makes sense to me.

+razrv3lc It's so true. I ship Chrom and the Female Avatar for many reasons, but the increase in depth and feel to the storyline is one of the main reasons I ship them. Marrying Chrom and mothering Lucina makes the storyline so much more dramatic and perfect... especially considering that if you have no relation with Lucina, Chrom literally has to shout at her to lower her sword. It just feels so WRONG. As for Chrom and Sumia... It just feels like Nintendo tried to force that WAY too much. They tried to make it look canon with Sumia on the balcony in the intro, the Garrison scene in Chapter 2, the cutscene in Chapter 3, etc., but it seems to me like they were trying to drastically overpersuade people to ship them, to the point that it actually made me ship them less (especially since I'm a Chrobin).

One of them bears blood of the light (Naga and Baldur) and the other the blood of darkness (Loptyr and Grima). The eventually have children who bear that blood (Seliph inheriting Major Baldur Blood and Lucina bearing the Brand in her eye) (Julius bearing the blood of Loptyr (albeit he is a half-sibling) and Morgan (considering he is easily manipulated by Grima in Future Past) bearing more of the Fellblood). Now I could be wrong and be missing a few details.

You know, a lot of people make fun of this scene, but just play scenario for a minute: You've come from a future where a malevolent Dragon God reigns supreme, everything is on fire, zombie solders come after whoever is still alive, most of your friends and family are dead and soon to be dead, and the person you call mother is now a shell for Grima to obtain his full power, and the only time she showed you affection is when she BEGS you to end her. Also factor in the fact that Validar can control (AVATAR) at any given time. Do you think Lucina has any other idea how to stop that, other than kill you? Josh B Lucina would not die because she was already born. Instead one of 3 things would happen. 1. That version of Lucina would disappear and a version where Grima never had a good future. 2. Lucina would be stuck in that time where Grima MIGHT have won depending on things like Chrom's reaction and having no tactition (Or player) 3. The entire save file resets because of how the beginning of the game starts therefore the game would start over but with a bunch of other crazy differences

Chrom accepting it was bullshit after what Robin and he went through together. Glad others can see how Lucina’s decision was not fucked up in any way and Chrom accepting it was the cherry on top. I remember when I first saw this scene. I didn't even bat an eye. ...And then I actually played the game for the first time years later, shortly after Fire Emblem Heroes came out. I honestly couldn't stop myself from practically crying my eyes out. It's amazing how someone can become so attached to a character after actually playing the game. It’s not that she didn’t love you, it’s that she knew it would be wrong and selfish of her to stay and get attached because of the other version of herself in this world that’s a baby. She knows ultimately they aren’t HER parents, and it’s wrong to see it as such. However, her going through so much and getting the chance to see her dead parents whom she she associates with love and a time before all the shit she went through happened, can’t help but get attached because of course she would. It’s something touched upon in her A support with whomever her mother is. That’s why ultimately, she can’t do it. She’s gotten the chance to bond with her parents, even if they’re not her version of her parents, and it made her happy. But she still had her mission. She can’t let Grima destroy this world as it did hers. That’s what led to this. But it’s as she said. She loves you far too much to ever go through with it.

When I played this it was always a no-brainer to let Lucina kill Robin. I regret that decision, because ultimately it would destroy not only Robin, but Lucina too. Lucina would have to shoulder the guilt of killing her own Mother. She, in an act of selflessness, sacrificed not only her mother, but her own future too. The world would be saved, at the expense of her dear mother and, in essence, herself... and Chrom too. I wish Robin's dialogue after rejecting Lucina's proposal would be something along the lines of "This isn't the way, my dear Lucina. I, as a mother, will not allow my child to walk the path of guilt and sorrow alone."

Actually if you think about it, Robin is implied to disappear pretty early on in the Bad Future, and Morgan doesn't seem to defect to Grima until he's at least in his midteens, so if we assume the age Gap between Lucina and Morgan is three years, and Chrom only dies around the time Lucina is ten then that leaves Morgan at seven and only knowing his father. Which is really freaking sad when you think about it.

2:10 What if The Avatar is only saying all this because she knows if she pulls at her own daughters heartstrings to persuade her to not kill her. Like, I know she does genuinely love her daughter and there is no question she loves Chrom, but she IS a master tactician. And I'm sure dying was the last thing she had on her mind. I say this because notice how when Lucina tells her to stop, The Avatar just keeps going, saying all this really emotional things, smiling as she is talking to her, knowing Lucinas decision to kill her was wavering the moment she started their conversation. In a funny way, or at least how I see this, she tactfully saved herself from being killed by her own daughter by pulling at her heartstrings. This optional scene would have sacrificed that pointless choice for something far more interesting, even if they weren't siblings: The two most powerful children forced to fight each other, desperately struggling to protect the parent dearest to them. It would have been awesome. And tragic. And awesome. And Tragic. And awesome.

This is way better than the married version with Male Avatar. It's much more compelling and emotional, the idea of killing your own mother for the sake of preventing a terrible fate? Lucina must be terrified. You can always fall in love again, but you can't replace a parent. Then again, I'm a little biased since I prefer F!MUxChrom over M!MUxLucina. Personally, I think Awakening's story is much more interesting if Avatar is Lucina's mother than husband. It also makes the bond between Avatar and Chrom more relevant to the plot, which makes sense. They're both central characters and the story already places emphasis on Avatar and Chrom's relationship anyway, no matter the Avatar's gender.

I feel like Lucina was just having something like an emotional outburst. Look at how she utterly SHITS herself when Grima resurrects, you can see just how scared she was by the idea of Chrom dying and the world going onto its ruin like in her timeline. She almost made a hasty choice out of fear, having connected the dots after seeing Robin imvoluntarily snatch the Fire Emblem and give it to Validar and I'm sure she if she did go through with it she would eventually realize that she made the wrong choice after the army falls apart without its tactician. But with all that said, the angry mom comments and jokes here are insanely hilarious so I'm just gonna pretend she is playing favorites with her parents and that she will be grounded, spanked and forced to stay in her room without Falchion while Robin takes Morgan out for ice cream after they slay Grima

The two games were different in their interpretation of fate. In Awakening, it's about averting the seemingly inevitable resurrection of Grima, and rejecting a fate of guaranteed loss. In Fates, it's about picking your path for yourself and carrying it through, regardless of the consequences and heartache.

A-YES, you will love this game (especially if you love strategy games) ,and B-if you're not the mother, the scene will still happen, just with different words. The dialouge changes if A-you're the mother, or B-you're her husband (did I mention this game is practically a love simulator? Shipping two of your fav characters is so awesome)

This scene (as well as the mother reunion) definitely works best with AvatarF as Lucina's mom, I think. I've seen the AvatarM as Lover version of this, and while it comes close, I think Lucina's acknowledgement of matricide,coupled with the "Mother..." voice clips from Lucina, is what really gives this version the edge as the most powerful version of this scene.

No I don’t Chrom is her favorite parent, it’s just she has more of a connection with Chrom than her mother given she’s exclusively his daughter, and inherits his sword and birthright through her brand She’s shown to love her mother just as much, through the scene of their reunion and her support convos where she’s trying to get her a gift in the form of a dress (even if it doesn’t look good, it’s the thought that matters) Hell in this scene it’s shown too just how much she loves you. She’s trying to think of the bigger picture, killing you would mean Grima couldn’t be resurrected. She traveled back in the time to save the world from Grima, and at the very least, she had recently realized you would be the one to kill Chrom. It’s not that Chrom is her favorite, it’s that she’s just trying to save him and complete her mission. Because even if you accept her judgement, even if you wholeheartedly offered your life to her. She still couldn’t do it. As she said. She loves you too much to be able to go through with it.
