Honestly this song hits hard.... first 27 years didn't know who the fuck I was... multiple suicide attempts... severe addiction to stimulants for years... finally 10 months sober and this is the most I've known myself, and the best I've been mentally. My best friend died earlier this year. She always would say “baby girl, don’t worry, things are going to get better. We aren’t always going to be held down by this life, by this matrix.” - Losing her to drugs devastated me, but it made me realize, I have to continue living this life, for me, for us. I have to live for her, and continue that vision to build that beautiful life. She was such an important spiritual teacher for me, but unfortunately her sadness got the better of her. The entirety of when I listened to this song for the first time, my jaw DROPPED. It felt as if I was levitating, like I ascended to a different universe, went through heaven, felt every emotion in existence at once. It was an overwhelming yet pleasant experience. This is a feeling I have only ever felt with your songs. You have been making music for years and years, yet each album, each song, has continued to far exceed my expectations. I cannot thank you enough for what you do. You have continued to pour your heart and soul into each and every song, which is what makes your music so special, and is something not many artists can achieve. Your music is so unique and so good at conveying raw, human emotion. That’s what makes it so powerful. So moving. So impactful. Each song is beautifully handcrafted and intricate. That I CAN get through this. Your music speaks to my soul, it helps me live, and it’s made my problems all so much easier to bear. So thank you, Mother Mother. With all my heart, thank you. I don’t know if I would be here if it weren’t for you. Not only your music, yet the band itself. I have never seen an artist that is so interactive and in tune with their fans, that cares so much about them. It’s wonderful. You truly are so special. I don't know if it's just me but I saw many references to Everything Everywhere All At Once in the video, which is an insane coincidence because ever since we heard the first verse of the song I associated it with that movie and specifically Jobu Tupaki /Joy. It's just so perfect to see my favorite movie of all time mixed with my favorite band of all time even in the case in which it wasn't intentional, I cannot tell you how much I cried watching this, with the same intensity as I do while watching the movie, it's like you read my mind and took a look at my life and turned them into a song and video.
