I really relate to this song as a transguy. Having to touch up and use makeup to avoid being an outcast in my transphobic family. The part of the song talking about the typically masculine childhood is how when you're younger it's just seen as quirky and you can do certain things that don't correspond to gender roles. I never had a "makeover queen bone in me" but now I'm meant to and it's so hard to keep up with it when I just want to be seen as who I am. But that's just my interpretation haha
