We found out my son would have downs fairly early in the pregnancy. The first question the doctor asked is if we’d like to abort. We love the Lord and we know this wasn’t an option. My son will be 4 in September and he lights up literally every room he enters. God is using my son to bring joy to others. Nothing short of a blessing through adversity is makes the entire family strong. There are no better human beings on earth than those with Down’s syndrome.

I have a child with downs. I wouldn’t change her for the world. If there was a cure then I still wouldn’t take it. People with downs are amazing. Unfortunately some people don’t think so and I guess you can put them in the same category as people that don’t like blacks, asians, Americans, muslims, Jews ect…. The great thing is that we can all change our thoughts on people and embrace people that might “appear” different to the typical type of person.

I found a thin little book in a junk shop about 30 years ago. A lady had printed her journal about her new adopted baby girl with downs. I have no idea why I picked it up but it was such a sweet sometimes sad story of their day to day lives with her. What was unique was it was written by Dale Evans. Wife of Roy Rogers.I don’t think people knew much about it back then as it was in the 1940’s I think. I wish more moms of these kids could read that little book. It’s very up lifting & I still have to re-read it from time to time. If you ever want to find it it’s called “Angel Unaware” ❤

how old is the mother? I want to hear her opinion if she is 70+ but still has to care for a eternal child. Yes there is a small possibility that her child will be independent but most of them will require help forever.
@Anno1602player7 жыл бұрын
guess what my parents still help me from time to time, (I need document x do you remember where it could be?). I still ask them for advice but most things I do on my own like finding a job, home and so on. Therefore I am more or less capable of living without them. While some parents want to take care for their entire life there comes a time when they cant do it any longer. Most parents die before the children so who takes care of the child once the parents are dead? Most adults live sooner or later without their parents but how many downies can live without help?
@guacamoledip44537 жыл бұрын
Why do you care about anybody else's opinion. You seem to have yours already made up. When you get old who is going to take care of you? If your children can't they will just put you in a nursing home and wait until you die. If family doesn't take care of you then nobody else will.

That’s what happens if mainstream media glorifies an extremely severe genetic disorder like Trisomy 21. Low IQ people tend to be ignorant and decide to get defective children. That’s why prenatal testing should be mandatory. People should know that DS is incompatible with a productive life and that by age 50 most develop severe Alzheimer’s and suffer tremendously. America is going downhill with its dysgenic policies and abortion bans. Who will take care of the elderly and ill, if everyone is becoming genetically inferior? Societal collapse looms.

So many DS babies never live to see the light of day because they are usually aborted, and the precious gift of their life, all the joy, encouragement, comfort that they always inevitably bring, it is their gift; all of their potential is snuffed out in abortion If only the parents knew that they destroying the greatest gift of joy and consolation that they could ever hope to receive, if only they could see past the mirage of lies, embarrassment, shame, fear, to the bounty of sweetness and beauty and irrepressible joy that could be theirs, if only they had the wisdom and courage to see

What a beautiful and very true comment!!!!! My little sister has Down's (well I say (little) She is 42 now and back then my Mother had her when testing for Down Syndrome wasn't available as it is today. (Early 80s). She is and always will be an absolute blessing to Me and My Family. She has bought so much happiness and joy to my family through some very troubled times. Having growing up with a Violent Father, who would hit our Mother, let's just say she was ALWAYS the only one out of us 6 children who always so very bravely had the courage to stand up to him and would shake her finger at him and scold him for what he was doing. She is our true hero and I am very proud to have her as my sister!!!!!!.
