Dear Ladies, Angelina Jordan was and still is protected by her family against the sharks of the international music industry. She is well known in Seoul/Korea and asia because she sang there in front of an audience of 40.000+ people for a charity. The shoe story, as Angelina told it in her book (youngest published author ever in Norway) was she was in Africa and she met a little girl her age who was not wearing shoes. Angelina asked why and the girl said she couldn't afford them. So Angelina gave the girl her own shoes to wear and promised her that whenever she performs she would go barefoot to remind people that there are those in the world who cannot afford shoes.

Angelina was six years old when she visited the Middle East with her mother and grandmother. They met a young orphan girl seven years old who had no shoes. Angelina took off her own shoes and gave them to the girl and promised that she would never again wear shoes while performing until all of the children of the world had shoes.

Ladies, when she was interviewed before Norway's Got Talent when she was 7, Angelina cited Billie Holiday, Shirley Bassey and Louis Armstrong among her favourite singers. This alone made me sit up and pay attention. Then she's in Norway, a country I know little about but one I perhaps unfairly never regarded as likely to produce a notable jazz performer of any age. And she's planning to audition with Billie Holiday's Gloomy Sunday; a dirge reputed to have inspired several suicides that was banned by the BBC for decades. "Whose idea was that?" I thought. A few minutes later and this snaggletoothed kid had confounded my every expectation. By the time I had watched all four NGT performances, my former stoicism was spread amongst about a dozen scrunched up tissues. Could she sing? Why else would she have been there? But she did more than sing. And she continues to do what she does regardless of subject matter, whether she can relate to the words coming from her lips or, indeed, whether she has even seen some of the words before. Her most dedicated fans appear to be a couple of generations or more senior to her; a fact she has proven to me is not solely because her material is largely from a bygone era. Somebody needs to get her songs played on an ad or as the soundtrack to a charity campaign or TV drama to get her voice out there because I fear traditional channels combined with her wholesome image aren't going to shoot her skywards. A few months ago I might have said she is where she wants to be but she's signed with a major player for a reason.

She is changing the music to match how she hears it in her head. That is the conductor who is used to having her do this. Angelina has been in charge of her music since she was little. I know she is only 9 here, but Angelina has been doing her own arrangements for awhile. Which ever band she works with they use her nick-name, they call her 'The Boss' but they mean it in the most affectionate way. She laughs and jokes around but when it comes to Her music they all show her the respect she deserves. She also will have it her way and she will spend as much time as it takes to make sure everybody gets it right. It all sounds like everything is set up for her to become a Diva but she has her family to ground her. It worked, Angelina is the sweetest and most humble SuperStar in waiting you will find. She is from Oslo, Norway. Angelina's childhood is very closely guarded by her team. Mom, Grandma, Uncle Mike and Juliette her baby sister who Angelina calls, 'The Love of Her Life'. Angelina gets hundreds of requests to perform. I think Angelina get's the final say, but she can only do a certain amount. She has been around the world and in many different countries. If you scroll through her performances you will see an eclectic mix of locations. Angelina is also generous. When she won Norway's Got Talent she gave half of the prize to several charities. She has given a lot to environmental and humanitarian causes. This all got started when visiting her grandma's homeland of Iran. Angelina was with her family at an open air bazaar when she came upon a young girl about the same age and started talking. I think she speaks passable Persian. The girl admired Angelina's shoes. To which Angelina took them off and gave them to the girl. They talked some more and the girl said that Angelina would soon forget about the little girl. Angelina said that from then on whenever and wherever she would sing she would sing bare foot as a remembrance of her promise to the little girl and to all who did not have shoes. Let’s analyze the video: 1st you see how small and cute she is. 2nd you see she is barefoot (story below) 3rd You see her making her “list of suggested changes” to the song. 4th the band leader taking note of the changes. 5th Angelina is holding a candle with “Screemin’ Jay Hawkin’s (original artist 1956) picture on it. 6th the old soul in her voice. She is the youngest published author in Norway. Angelina wrote and her Grandmother illustrated a book about why she sings barefoot. She was on a trip to Iran where her grandmother is from and met a street girl weighing people for money. Angelina sat and talk with the girl. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, a Doctor but that it could never happen. Angelina told her to never give up hope. The girl complimented Angelina on her shoes and Angelina noticed her scarred bare feet so she gave them to her, and the little girl told Angelina she would pray for her every day. Angelina sings barefoot to this day to remind the world that there are still children in need. All book proceeds go to charity.

She's from Norway. She gave her her shoes (this at 6, probably in Iran, and probably speaking Farsi). She said she loved those green boots. Angelina vowed she would always perform without shoes to remind her audiences that there are children in need. She has done a lot of charity work for children. She wrote a children's book about it and became the youngest published author in Norway (her grandmother, an esteemed artist from Iran, who married a Japanese man, the grandfather she mourns in Million Miles, illustrated it). In it she says that when she gave away her boots it was like a door opened in her heart and there was a stairway to heaven. She remarks it was such a great thing, to something for someone else---all this from the diary of a six year old. As you can see, she's a lot more than a vocal genius (you might want to watch her tribute to her dear friend Avicii after he committed suicide). You'll notice she's consulting the lyrics. She arranged it too, and those are instructions to the orchestra she is writing out at the beginning. She can get right into the soul of a song. She's sung in Seoul and Tokyo, Germany, the US, for Nobel Laureate Malawa, and so much more. She just turned 15.

Grandmother Mery, who is also a prodigy artist and poet played jazz records from the time Angelina was born as you will see in her performances at 7-8 on Norway's Got Talent, which she won. Angelina from the age of 3 would search the net for Billie Holiday and various jazz artists. How do we know all of this about her? It's all on video!! She is definitely a musical genius who can interpret and arrange songs to compel one to listen. You ain't seen nothing yet. "Feeling Good" Live on the Stream Gir Tilbake is even more amazing at 10 years old with her own rendition. She always chooses and arranges all of her songs since 8 yo. Also, please see her Tom Jones version of "I Who Have Nothing" at 6 yo in a school studio...stunning. This is an Angelina trademark performance. At the beginning she hands the production director score changes. She commands the studio completely. Initially the musicians who were invited were apprehensive but fully understood that the end product was something amazingly special. They call Angelina "The Boss". She had been doing studio work with a voice coach since age 6. This is probably the only piece where she rockets the limits of her vocal chord ability. So glad you two reviewed this one. Charming.

In the beginning of the video she was writing down the changes she wanted to the song arrangement for the musicians. She just turned 9 when this was recorded. Actually, the girl complimented Angelina's favorite pair of shoes that she was wearing and Angelina took them off and gave them to the girl. Loved the reaction, You got me so excited to want to tell you so much more about Angelina but I am going to ask Rusty Shackleford to post his great bio on Angelina and a list of all her videos in chronological order. Some reactors use that method ~(in time order) others don't but as you have now just reacted to this amazing performance I would urge you to go to when she was even younger and the 4 performances from age 7 & 8 which won her the Norways Got Talent contest. She is also very well known and respected for having a 1000 voices in so much as you have now seen her version of Bohemian Rhapsody and this one which are 2 very different examples of her skills but as someone else has posted you aint seen nothing yet. Don't be surprised to find another video you think is even better. There are over 130 for you to get reacting to so please please don't leave it as long. And also, you mentioned the view for your first Angelina reaction, do you realise they are just short of 150, 000 now.? You have never had that many views. PLUS, on an average per week that reaction is beating the infamous Dimash reaction you did 7 days after Angelina.!! Enough said. I also love the banter you too have. :-). I saw the interview from the music producer asking him about the notes Angelina had given him. He said he smiled because it was the most polite for request in song arrangements that he had ever received and that is why he smiled. He wasn't very explicit to what her request were but indicated that she wanted to ascend the horns and have the bass, drums and piano decended and be more of a base to the song. She probably felt her voice would stand out more with those changes.

Now you clearly see why this is her most requested video. Angelina fans want others to experience the AWE from this performance. She is barely 9 here; and she has just turned 15. After carrying on a conversation with the little girl, she actually removed her shoes (her favorite pair) and gave them to the her. Angelina has vowed to never wear shoes while performing in public, until All the children of the world have shoes, and she has never varied, not once, from that vow she made at 6 years of age. At 9 she wrote the book “Mellom to hjerter (Between Two Hearts)” and became the youngest author in Norway's history. You two are delightful and I'm happy that you have discovered Angelina; she is simply the Best singer of other people's songs EVER! 9 years 2 months old for this amazing performance. Angelina is in my opinion the ONLY one truly born to sing. You posed the question, "Why isn't she broadcast all over the world?" A great question and as of this date, the anticipation is building for her upcoming album which promises to be mostly, if not all, original songs. Angelina has performed 4 original songs to date, What is Life, Oslo, Shield and Million Miles. Republic Records has been setting up a world wide promotion for her album and I am willing to wager her career will explode. We are witnessing a prodigy unlike any other, who delivers a song far better and has a voice which makes one believe all the greats conspired in heaven to create.

Great job ladies! Yes, Angelina chooses her own songs and arranges much of the product. Her versatility and musical instincts are unmatched. You almost have the barefoot story correct. While traveling in the Middle East with her grandmother, she met a shoeless girl weighing people for money. They talked for a long while and Angelina gave her shoes to the girl and vowed not to wear shoes when performing to remember her and to remind us of those less fortunate. AJ published a book about the experience making her the youngest published author in Norway. It is truly a conundrum when we try to rationalize how it is possible that this tiny sweet-faced 9yo Norwegian girl can step up to the microphone, flip some switch within her, become this "beast-mode" version of herself (most probably named "AJ don't play"), deliver an extraordinary and musically and socially sophisticated performance, then just-like-that return to the pensive young lady once again... There aren't words for this! "I Put a Spell On You" has been covered many times and is recognized as a classic, yet almost never is the tone of the original 1956 "Screamin" Jay Hawkins version captured. This is because Hawkins was the original shock rock guy (think Ozzy Osbourne type craziness) and his style is difficult to emulate and also because his dated delivery is uncomfortable and stereotypical to our modern sensibilities. Yet Angelina respectfully sings his own song in a manner that exceeds his (Hawkin's image is on the candle she holds at the start of her video). As you heard, she starts low, rising in intensity throughout and finishes in an unexpected and practically operatic style. You must go and listen to Hawkins' original (and throw in a couple of "famous" covers as well) to appreciate the true genius in how AJ incorporates many of his vocal elements [usually omitted by most covers]. This reveals another aspect of her musical IQ and arranging genius (not to mention her masterful control of her vocal instrument equaled by few others regardless of age). First I'd like to say that you and mom have the upmost greatest relationship friendship I've ever seen in my entire life. You both are a very good example not just for mothers and daughters but for families and people cause it might trigger and establish bonding and to love/ care one another . The Picture of the Man on the candle at the beginning is Screamin' J. Hawkins. the man that wrote this song in the 50's and the style she chose was how he sang it back then,,,,You must hear her sing Summertime and Gloomy Sunday Billy Holiday. On Norways got talent when she won at the age of 7/8 Since that time and this 9 years old. She sang in concerts all of Europe and Asia and many other places thus her confidence and knowing what she wants from the musicians.

We warned you that you would be shocked by this one ;) Angelina is just music itself. The way this vocal pours out so effortlessly... When you ask, "where is this voice coming from?"... I think the answer is.... it's coming right from the depths of her soul. The passion she puts into the songs she sings... This is not something you can just learn to 'perform'. This is something you have to be born with, something coming from within. She doesn't just sing the song. She feels the song, and then explains those feelings to us through her voice. A detail some people miss in this video is that at the very beginning she's writing something, and then you see the music director reading her arrangement notes and smiling. As if being an otherworldly singer isn't enough, Angelina also writes her own unique arrangements.
