Hi ladies - thought you'd like that. On the 10th July watched her sing 18 songs in her concert in Norway. Not only did she sound amazing but her stage presence was incredible. She was so happy to be singing on stage, chatting with the audience and crying with the emotions of it all. A totally amazing experience.

We Angelina angels have learned Angelina dedicated this song to her grandmother Mery Zamani, who has been having health issues and was unable to go with the family to Norway. So when I listen to Angelina sing this song knowing she is singing for her grandmother, I get emotional.

Finding one of your reactions to Angelina Jordan really makes my day! I've got you two and a very few other reactors for my rainy day play list. Watching the two of you engage is simply heartwarming. As some of the comments indicate below, Angelina released a studio cover of this song today. Even though you've just seen her live performance, this new one is pure ear candy. The live performance was performed lower key, while the studio cover unleashes her higher register. It's a spectacular performance that few, if any, can match. The new black and white cover is shot in the same LA antique store she performed "Suspicious Minds" and "My Funny Valentine" in. The later is also worth reacting to, as it sounds like it's coming from one of the greats of yesteryear.

Better than Whitney? Wrong question imho. Both, Whitney and Angelina did a masterful interpretation of this song written by David Foster and Linda Thompson. And while Whitney's musical background is R&B, Soul and Pop, Angelina's background is Jazz with Soul added. One was 29, the other is 16. The one was a highly produced studio version, the other live. Whitney was strong soprano, Angelina is strong alto voice. Therefore different keys, quite normal. And yes, Angelina related to Whitney's performance, the Diva mode and so on. Showed her respect. That doesn't mean, that she intended to do it the same way, which anyway would be impossible because of the different voices and the different emotional background. Few days later Angelina dedicated this song to her Grandma, who is sick, an who she has a very strong relation to. So I take both interpretations as pieces of art on their own. No competition. It is about music. Yesterday Angelina released a studio version of this song. BTW, maybe you should switch places sometimes, because Elisabeth's ear damage would only hit the right ear this way... 😉😎🥰

No one is better than Whitney at this song but Angelina is about the best at covering it. We don't have to downgrade the original artist to big up Angie. I don't think Angie would like that either. Though I do think some of Adele's stuff, Angie arranged better or in some cases didn't have some of the issues Adele runs into pushing her voice. But in the end Adele gets all the credit for amazing songs that we get to hear Angie cover.

With that said, I simply prefer to listen to Angelina sing over just about anyone. This is due to some intangible factors that I can't quantify or even describe.

Anyone discovering her today can go back to the start of her life and observe her growth as a performer and as an individual, the same way as we have. It's like having a favourite neice or grand-daughter suddenly thrust upon us through some miracle ... so the connection is intensely personal. Unless you happen to be one of Whitney Houston's inner circle of friends and family, you will never experience the same emotional bond, because with Angelina the relationship is two-way ... we invest our time, energy and a form of 'love' and she meets us half way with her own. This performance was not long after rather long and tedious journey from LA to Norway. Considering the jet lag this was an amazing performance. Having said that, this was just the warm up for what was to follow. As @steve1711 commented, the final concert on 10th July was on a whole new level. Angelina sang 18 songs - I have nothing was the last one, the song was dedicated to her grandma - who for the first time could not attend Angelina's concerts. Emotions had been running high the whole time, many tears were shared. Thankfully Angelina managed to keep her tears to the interludes. On returning to LA Angelina, now with the rest of her family again, decided to give us another live studio performance. This is for sure the defining vocal from Angelina - not a competition with Whitney, just a heart pouring rendition for her grandma...

Whitney Houston was a soprano. Angelina Jordan is a low register alto---I've read the term "mezzo-alto", so I guess not quite contralto, not as low as tenor, though she hits some of the notes there. I am told that even Whitney lowered the key a bit. Angelina lowers the key some steps more. One does that if one wants to do a great job with a song in one's range. A lot of people like the fuller, rounder sound of Angelina Jordan's range. There is a science that studies sound and healing. The sound range of Angelina corresponds more to the heart energy center of the body, which is how people experience so much well-being when listening to AJ. Whitney Houston's range corresponds more to the higher positions of energy centers in the body---so the head and crown centers. One is not better than the other, just different. Whitney Houston was powerful in her range, and Angelina Jordan is powerful in hers. I, too, like this song in AJ's range, although in general, I wasn't that fond of the song until AJ sang it If that makes sense. AND I never saw The Bodyguard, so..... LOL! I hope I made a tiny bit of sense here. I've been exposed to a wide range of esoteric knowledge, but am not an expert in any of it.
