Mother voices concern with Kia software upgrade after car was stolen, impaired

The anti-theft upgrade does NOT work, and the little sticker-decals on the windows are a joke! Our car was destroyed. It should be MANDATORY for car dealers to DISCLOSE the lack of immobilizer on Hyundais and Kias to customers and buyers, otherwise they should be sued for non-disclosure, and for putting people's lives at risk. Hyundai/Kia need to be held responsible, and accountable, and all those cars should be recalled. DON'T BUY ANY HYUNDAIs or KIAs.

Don’t buy Kia or Hyundai.. period .. I run a roadside/ towing company and I’ve seen this about 6 times within the last 10 months or so

This just happened to my car, I got the upgrade last year, it did work because they didn't take my car. The vehicle shutdown and would not start, which if it doesn't detect a key, it will do this.. Maybe there are defects for certain models ...however, I am thinking to buy a different car.. It is always something especially when I was literally one payment away to pay my car off. Be careful out there.

Many people don't have garages....They either park on the street, or park in the garages of their buildings, many of which are un-gated, and open for anyone to go in.

2/14/2024 Mines was broken into and they attempted to steal it. Ripped apart entire ignition fob/wheel column. Snapped the keyfob cause car will not detect my key when put in.

That's NOT going to save her. Mass Transit is like the criminal transport system. They can get anywhere and steal a car. Plus Kia designed these cars so poorly they've made thieves out of anyone willing to watch a short video on KZbin. Like the other guy said: DON'T BUY KIAS. Today they recalled 91,000 cars because they will spontaneity combust!
