That's not the reason for the Witchbomb. Raelle is connected to the Mycelium wall (giant mushroom)since she touched it. The wall sensed her dying (which in turn meant that part of it was dying) and as a response, it respawned and because Raelle was holding hands with Abigail, it affected her too. This is made even clearer by the numerous mushrooms that were growing around them.
