haha! . . remember mothers pride! i used to be a van boy (when i was at school in the 70's) on saturdays delivering boards of mothers pride 'pan' and 'plain' bread to the shops and stores . . ah! . .happy days! thanks for sharing.

Knocker-upper - a long gone early morning tradition where people (often retired folk) were paid to wake up residents in their houses by tapping on their bedroom windows with a long stick in order to wake them up.
