I showed this to my Italian neighbour, who sings the "proper" version, expecting him to be grossly offended, but on the contrary, he thought it was a hoot and fell about! In fact, it's not an opera song, but an old neapolitan song that's often given an "operatic" treatment.

@littleniyah7 жыл бұрын
A treat! used to get one once a year! A Yorkie bar: that was the super-treat. When the ice-cream van came round, you'd always want a 99 but your mam would demur and say you had one last month. They didnt want you to get spoiled. It was the ice-cream of Satan. And mums ate tubs with little spoons but that wasnt manly enough for dads. Dads ate wafers so they had to bite through the ice cream and endure the frozen-tooth agony, manfully.

This looks *just like* when I visited Venice with my family in August 2014. Damp, dreary weather whilst travelling around on a gondolier. But it *was such* a hell of an experience. Some days it was scorching hot, other days it was chucking with rain. We then went to Verona (70 miles away from Venice) for a few days afterwards, and that stay was *boiling* every day!
