1. Use a master color palette template with all Fills and Tints interactively picking their colors from it. (if for example the client asks to change all text colors from red to blue, you can do it with a click) 2. Use a "template" composition, custom made for the project, from where you can drag and drop common shapes, styles, and scripts. For example a base text already set up with the font, layer style, color, animate in, etc.. Or a line with a specific trim animation you plan to reuse several times for the project. This way, you don't have to create all assets from scrach thousands of times but start off with the basic. 3. Open a new comp viewer on a separate monitor set to show the final look. This way, you can edit your sphere on the main monitor while also seeing how it looks in the final video. 4. Work with smaller composition sizes instead of large, AND then rasterize them into the master comp. This makes your computer run much faster, the comps render always sharp with all details, and you also have the chance of temporarily switch off the raster for faster previews. 5. Try to "export" precomps as PNG sequences whenever you can. For example, if a particle simulation takes 1 hour to preview, export it as a PNG sequence and import it again, now it will preview instantly.

I set Alt+Z for a quick Time-Reverse Keyframes instead of the manual way (right click and choosing Time-Reverse Keyframes). It really speeds up my process.

"P" for position, "S" for scale, "T" for transparency, and if you need several at once, hold down "Shift" before pressing "P", "S", "T"...

Nice tips! I have a sticky note on the bottom of my monitor with all of the keyboard shortcuts I use the most. I know I've gotten into a good flow when I've been working for several minutes without ever touching the mouse!

I use the trim shortcut a lot, so for me, rebinding that was a really game changer in speed. Q (with no modiffiers) to set layer in point, and W to trim layer out (that because in 99% of the cases, i wanna set the in point, and trim the out). The same keys with alt to trim in, and out point respectively. Also H for hide layer switch. Lost the original shortcuts to those keys, but the are really no used a lot or useful to me. Also, to keep organized the render files: TOKENS! make a "file name and location template" to never waste time looking for your project folder, and create a new folder with the current date. This is what i use: [projectFolder]\Render\[dateMonth]-[dateDay]\[compName].[fileExtension]

I never thought of a shortcut to hide things. I wonder if there is one to quickly solo a layer! Really useful to use render tokens! Great for working locally.

Hey 😊 Could you please suggest the best monitor size and resolution, specifically for After Effects?

It depends on your preference! I use a 4K monitor so it gives me more screen space! But I also have a second monitor for a dual screen layout too

I used Flashcards apps to memorize keyboard shortcuts 😅
