@@motionbyscott do u have any alterantives to a circle turning into oblong when doing squash and stretch?

@@motionbyscott & does rastering layers in after effects only works if the assets are svg or illustrator files ?
@motionbyscott Жыл бұрын
@@jirehla-ab1671 I’m not quite sure what you mean. You could use a rounded rectangle instead to create a circle and easily morph to a oblong shape. That’s right only AI files, as shape layers are automatically rasterised.

Hi Scott! First of all, thanks a lot for this helpful guide. You give very clear and important advices in a simple way. I want to ask if you usually work with the grids like in this video. And also, I've just found your channel and I loved it. Sorry if I've missed, but can you make a basic tutorial video on your process while creating a storyboard and design process on AI. I know it would be a thousand dollars course if you give every detail haha, but if you would give some basic principles and tips&tricks you use, that would be very helpful :)

Thanks mate! I pretty much always work with grids on, i'm just so used to it now and find it helps with alignment / composition a lot of the time. In terms of illustrator workflow, I'll usually just start designing a few style frames and bring those over to AE using Overlord. It's definitely not the best way to work, but for personal projects I find myself just getting lost in the motion sometimes and coming up with new ideas there. I would definitely try to plan as much as possible in Illustrator though as it will save lots of time in AE.

Nice! A question on design process: I see that the final look and feel was created in AE, but when you create your assets an Ai do you have some ideas about adding effects later (blurs, displacement, etc.)?
@motionbyscott Жыл бұрын
Most of the time I’ll have something in mind, just as I’m more comfortable doing that stuff in AE, and find it faster. However, story boarding is something I’m trying to improve on the most.
