Here’s my 15 hour venture to the other side. I was inactive 30 years only coming back because my wife joined behind my back, but that was in 1990. Since then we have served in about every position in the church at ward/stake level including my 5 years as a bishop. But, my medical catastrophe in 2015, that I was only permitted to remember part of, cemented my total faith in Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. That experience changed me to the center of my sole by reminding me who I am and what I must have agreed to as tests down here. It’s on KZbin. “The miracle of the Atonement in Tom Ockey’s life.” It’s very riveting.

I didn't use to think that I really needed prayer because I knew that God knew, what was in my heart and mind. He knew what I wanted and needed, and I felt like he really didn't need me to say it. Somehow, I was wrong. Beyond logic and beyond what I thought was a higher manifestation of faith in God -- I was wrong. Perhaps prayer is beyond logic or understanding. Perhaps its power is far greater than just a form of communication. Perhaps prayer is not only our communication to God, but also a great source of strength and power and protection from Him as well. Perhaps prayer is a way for God to give us everything that is lacking, somehow. I hope you understand what I am trying to say here.
