I'm a biology major and studying for my Chem class right now. Every time I get frustrated about not understanding something I just say over and over to myself "this is possible to learn, tons of people in the world understand it and I will eventually too" which is kinda like what you said!! Great video thanks so much!!

This couldn't come any sooner. This is exactly what I needed!!! I have been feeling super incapable of doing chemistry no mater hard I worked but I told myself as long as I see progress I know I have to keep trying! Just like how you said it takes a couple days or a week but I'll eventually get it down:) I also have been talking to my mentor, who explains, yes it is very important to work hard and to do your best but never forget to take care of yourself. Sleep well, exercise, eat as healthy as you can. It is just important as your good grades! Thanks Andrea for the great pick me up:)

In a weird way this helped me. I'm struggling to get finished with my master's thesis and finish up my secondaries. I've been in school for a long time (I'm 28) and I'm just at a mental wall. In a depressing yet somehow encouraging way it's good to know that sometimes it can suck, and the only thing to do is to do it. I know I want to be a doctor and I literally don't know what else I would do if I didn't become a doctor, so I need to power through this.

I am planning on taking the new MCAT in March 2016 and hopefully start medical school in 2017 and I will be 27 years old guy. I will be done when I am 31ish. How is it like to have a family, kids as a resident? Sometime the thought of my age takes away all the motivation for studying. Currently I am working as a Respiratory Therapist in NYC. Everyone makes PA sounds like it's filled with rainbows and butterfly but I was never interested in it but the only reason I am even thinking about it is because of the year in School. I am probably the most indecisive person ever. Just need some motivation! Thanks a bunch :)

Subo Deb Why aren't you interested in PA? You can definitely have kids and a family as a resident. Either way would work!
@tomare64799 жыл бұрын
Subo Deb It will be EASY with time management and belief that you can do it. You will need to delegate things and take loans but you can do it. 31 is young. Keep motivated!

Andrea Tooley My apology for late replay. I just don't like to work under the Physician's licence as a PA. Also I feel like your professional satisfaction depends a lot on the physician you work under no matter how good of a PA you are. As a MD I think I will have more autonomy. It's just time consuming but I am working on my MCAT now :)

Remember that things change in year 3. That was my big motivator during the basic science years of med school. Once I started rotations it was so much more fun, engaging, and rewarding. Of course everything comes with its own set of challenges but once I started working in the hospital I started really loving my choice of pursuing medicine... rather than spending all day reading at my desk and being forced to go to pointless group discussions.

Definitely a great video and perfecting timing. Midterms just finished. I am losing motivation and am extremely overwhelmed. You are such an inspiration! I always watch your videos to keep me going and reassure myself that I can and will become a doctor. Do you typically study independently or in a group? How do you keep yourself from getting distracted (phone, music, social media)?
