Okay, I seriously don't know what I'm talking about in this video. I am NOT the right person to talk about motivation! I still hope you enjoy the video.

AI art dwindles my motivation considerably.

Oh yes! I feel the same. Why even try to improve your skill if some AI is gonna use your stolen art and probably be even better in it. But I don't know. Maybe there is still some hope.

We won't give up! I also see that no one likes to comment on AI art in deviantart anymore, at least not when it is tagged as such.

To this video, I would add some of my understanding of the things you have mentioned, and maybe add one or two point: As you have mentioned the point "rearranging your motivational concept", it might be also helpful not to speak of goals, but of standards instead. Why can you motivate yourself to clean your room every day, or go to work every day, but not to work on your hobbies? Because work and household are standards for you, or, an obligation, as you have mentioned in your video. But the hobby, it isn't your standard (yet). Also, especially in the beginning (when trying to establish a standard through a routine), you could set smaller goals/standards than you have now (for sake of an example: drawing 10 minutes a day instead of 2 hours), or as you have said in the video, give yourself intermediate goals (instead of a daunting 10 volumes Manga, motivate yourself on doing it chapter by chapter, page by page). Allow yourself to feel proud about reaching these small steps every day (the intrinsic motivation you have mentioned). For some people, the energy/motivation they have to do (any) thing might dwindle like a battery during the day. If you have done everything you "must" during the day and by evening, you often find yourself too tired to do anything extra. Don't let your dreams become your "extra", but your "must" - your standard - for example by finding your time in the morning or afternoon instead of in the evening, so you won't have the excuse of having "no time". Rearrange your schedule, so you can do all the things you want.

I love the "standards" not "goals" view of things. It sounds more process than goal oriented. As a goal oriented person I often fal into the productivity trap. The more the better... and then you brun out. Thanks for your input. As I said, I'm not the best person to talk about motivation as I don't have any XD
