Thanks for the support. been a long road. The turbo tapped put at 900 on 2.6 and would do same on 3.2 but less boost. The back pressure is high at that power and not worth the stress on the engine while were testing parts. G45-1500 will take us past 1100hp piece of cakw

Can't say enough good things about Con. He tuned my R34 GTR to 700hp and did the same with the power delivery so boost wasnt coming on hard early that I was spinning tyres. He told me to go fun with it and if I got bored to bring it back so he could turn it up but it would lose some streetability. CRD Number 1 in my book 👍🏼👍🏼

This is pure gold. :) Broken dyno, record rain fall, fall and winter here, but somtime, I will log the airflow from the VE table in the Haltech. Importing this to a excel spreadsheet, converting it to lb/min on the X-axis and the "MAP" in BAR out of the turbo on the Y-axis, one should get a curve to draw on all compressormaps. Should be way more accurate than turbocharger speed. :)

Intro got me pumped. I got the same dilemma, except its a BMW motor. I have a 2.5 liter, and what you do is swap over the 3 liter crank and pistons from a much newer motor, it all fits. I have a 330i (3 liter motor) sitting on a pallet with a blown headgasket i picked up for next to nothing. Just wondering if its worth it. They too suffer from the harmonics issue you see on other cars.
@johnsnow52392 жыл бұрын
Sometimes the harmonics can be sorted with a full balance, ATI damper and use an electric water pump. Often mechanical water pumps cause harmonics at high rpm. Just speaking from experience with a 3sgte and an old a12 Datsun.

Im just a 22 year old GTR nut with no experience of tuning nor even driving any sports car. But in my "experience" of reading from forums/tuners and watching various tuners (including Motive Video) tune GTR, I'd say (just my opinion) Nissan sacrificed the "low RPM high torque" potential mainly because Nissan designed the RB26 to be a high revving circuit race engine, not a high torque drag monster. RB was 'never meant' to be a crazy pull ridiculously high low RPM torque monster. It's meant to be a linear curve with plenty of mid to high end power. To add to my argument, Nissan designed the GTR with 4WD for the bottom end acceleration, it doesnt need as much torque down low as other sports cars. Even Niikura of Mine's tuned it to be a high revving fast response GTR rather than high low end torque monster. So seeing Andrew going the same route with drivability with the varying boost across the RPM range really makes me rather happy considering Im out of those very small percentage of GTR fanboys that hates the aggressive tuning setup most GTRs have.
@RS-ve8nq2 жыл бұрын
Did you add a crankcase pressure sensor in all that? Be interesting to see what pressures you’re seeing in the engine when it’s under load and how that affects the hp overall.

I've always wondered why you guys didn't go for the 3.4l stroker kit as opposed to the 3.2l. Only thing I could guess is maybe the rod stroke ratio is unfavorable? On the spool website it says around 1.65 or so, which is better than the K24, so I'm not sure what the reasoning is behind it.
